Why are you going to the Post Office at the Crack of dawn anyway?
Postal workers - Union contract probably states lunch is from 1130- 1230. If they had to wait on customers during that hour they would be on OT.
Maybe a good time to grab a sausage n pepper sandwich?

Bought a coil and bracket from 68hemiRR back on the 11th. He shipped it on the 12th. I watched tracking, saw it make it to Chicago and CLEARED Customs on the 16th! Then watched it go back to him on tracking and it was delivered to HIM today in MN! FFS...

Our local post office is a very populated suburban area. It's small and on ground floor of a building of medical offices. Always busy and sees lots of business. Don't know what the situation is there, hours are 9 AM-4 PM and it's never closed for lunch. There are 3 persons that work there and 2 of the 3 have been there for more than 15+ years. They stagger lunch times so someone is always at the counter. Nice and friendly folks also..

No pills, just enjoying the rants of some that still have to like work.
It fills my day, and I can pretty much plan to visit the Post Office whenever. Now that I'm retired, it's pretty much my adventure for the week. I might even shave first before I go.

You're gonna lose out on all that 11:00, and 11:30 lunch business?

Just about every restaurant around here opens at 11 and some earlier and none of them close for lunch.

My first job was at a restaraunt that closed for lunch. They would stop seating at 10:30 on weekdays and 11:00 on the weekend. On the weekend, by the time we got people out the door and everything cleaned up we would have less than 4 hours before we had to be back for dinner shift. Most people only worked both shifts on the weekend though.

I have noticed how inconsiderate people are now days when buying items like at the parts store. They have the Walter attitude get your S------ and get out. What is the world come to with service.

They are probably tired of the customer's sheeet. There's been a couple of people that I've told to get the flock out of my shop. Told one guy that likes to cuss and smoke that he needed to change his tude, put his dang cig out and that my ears are not his personal cesspool. In my older age I don't care to take anyone's crap anymore.

How about setting up an account with the Post Office? I have had one for years now and can handle all my package shipping from here at the house. Process my postage costs, schedule a pick up by the route carrier, have the packages ready and waiting with a ledger of the packages, and then easy/peasy no wasted time going to the PO substation. As for the Pharmacy? I have the same issue with Walgreens when I have to use them as they close for lunch from 1:00 p.m. to 1:40 p.m. daily. So I try and get to them before that time or after. It is clearly evident that workers are now more concerned about their lunch breaks and breaks, and the customers be damned!!! Otherwise, I get 90% of my prescriptions from the VA with free delivery by??? You guessed it...The US Postal Service...cr8crshr/Bill

My biggest rant is people on their dang phones when they are the first vehicle at a now green light and are not paying attention. The sound of a straight pipe usually wakes them up without showing me how old they are. Next rant is people driving 25 in a 40 mph zone. Park the dang car and walk. They usually hear the straight pipe real well as I finally get to go around them. Other than those two, I'm pretty mellow

I agree with you about people being on their phones at red lights, but it’s not always the first person in line.

An observation I have about cell phones is that nearly everyone I see walking their dog or pushing a baby carriage is on their cell phone.

I just don't like being the one that's right behind the first car.....but yeah, the one that 5 cars back usually waits long enough for the light to turn yellow and then they run it making others behind them either run the red or wait again. Either way, it's a pita.

Yes. It went all the way back to him. Then fortunately he knows the post master, and she relabeled it, put a better description on the customs label and sent it again.

so I'm busy taking care of some personal business..... I turned my phone off, I didn't want to be disturbed; but I put it on the charger because the battery was low...... about 15 minutes later the pos turns itself on! WTF is that? if I didn't need it now and then, I would smash it into oblivion!

I have ordered stuff from U.S. and it goes to international centre in Chicago. It moves about 6 times during a week, but is still in Chicago!

Sort of rant, more curious than anything...

I don't know if it's a coincidence or not (? rhetorical)
most every time I log on here, I have my e-mail opened in another tile
almost all of the time, I immediately get a e-mail warning
seem 99% (exaggeration maybe, more like 75%) of the time
it's some spam BS too, strange part is;
It's almost always on/related to some subjects we had discussed here
or automotive sales, parts sales or somewhat political

my security level is set to high, most spam is caught

If I'm not on here a day or so, that's sort of rare too
my level of spam messages are way down, like 1/2-50%
I have a pretty good spam filter,
& the ****/spam not caught by that, I have a pretty good filter myself too
to know BS spam when I see it...
99% of them go to the spam folder, a few once in a while will slip thru
lately the past few months it's on the rise, like 5+ a day...
& I spend most my time here
I don't do, never joined either X (formerly Twatter) or Fakebook BS
or any other types of social-media, check in a few of Joey's other sites...

it seems too strange to be just a coincidence...

I don't go to sites I don't know, or open e-mails I don't recognize the sender/s
I don't do **** or any of that nonsense
I do shop online (sort of rare too) at the same 4-5 places
I rarely go to subjects on my home page 'in the news',
unless it's none of the MSM 10+ fake bias news sources

I clear my cookies & -www- browser history & I use a cleaner daily

Well, is your post office posting opening hours on the building that your entering?
You have an "official" post office building that you go to, or is it in some other type of retail business building?
You must live in a pretty small town, if you have a post office, that's closed for the lunch hour.
Personally, i never heard of a post office closing for lunch, until you mentioned this.

Mine does, in somewhat rural Arizona. 9-12, 1-3 office hours.

I may have to rant tomorrow, then again, maybe not. Got a message from fed ex a parcel or two will arrive tomorrow, that needs an adult sig and i.d.
I'm betting it's my black friday stuff. If so, it's actually earlier than I expected, so no rant yet.....
Just have to hang around the house, the boys and girl will let me know when it gets here.... loudly!
