The mashed potatoes would be hotter then the surface of the sun and the meat would be just barely thawed
You can microwave in aluminum, I've done it often. The instruction manual (a vintage Kenmore) says it's okay.All of it in a foil tray too. NO microwave meal there....that was toaster oven or conventional oven cooked.
These were our treat on Sunday evenings as we watched Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom on black & white TV.
