Wow, rip-off pricing compared to around where I am! Those must be exceedingly slow chargers, too. BC Hydro charges:
  • 12.07 cents per minute for 25 kW charging (+5% GST)
  • 21.13 cents per minute for 50 kW charging (+5% GST)
  • 27.17 cents per minute for 100 kW charging (+5% GST) ...so, for example, a Hyundai Ioniq (which are a common sight around here) would take 32 minutes to reach full charge, with a cost of $8.69 in Canadian funds, plus the 5% tax. If you bought it in the USA, you'd get free charging for the first two years - I don't think we get that deal in Canada.

Our U-pull yards have rows of complimentary wheelbarrows for use.

Finding one that's got a good tire, good bearings, good handles, is structurally sound, and not coated in grease or oil.....is a bit of a challenge, though.

When I used to go yarding, there was always an employee cruising around in an old jalopy that you could wave over. We would load any heavy stuff on his vehicle, and he would give me a ride to the office to unload and pay. I haven't done this in years. I think the junk yards are more structured now, taking some of the fun out of it.
