Was it a true zippo, or a knockoff? True zippos have the series number in roman numerals stamped in the bottom, on either side of the "zippo" word. THAT, from what I understand, is their trademark...not the name "zippo".

Probably a knock-off. Fluid only lasted a day or 3, and would leak on my leg (causing red sores). I got frustrated one day and whipped it into a thicket of briars.
