The Roach

Well, I ain't no Rocket Surgeon that's for sure. And I suppose someone with an engineering degree built it as a complete kit. You are correct in the easiest fix would be to chop a section off the cowl. Test fit to see how much the arm linkage clears by?

How much room is in the front - to radiator? My hot rod spidey sense says one could easily cut .75 - 1.25 inches off that circular motor mount and reweld it to the rear sector.
Boom engine forward.
Same thing with trans mount.
How this all affects other components will require that aforementioned engineering degree.

Chop chop on the cowl.

I'd do the cowl first, start moving things can snowball. Turn motor mount around.

That "Box" on the intake is possible the tuned runner servo motor. The intake runners are supposed to somehow change length to broaden the power band. These new engines are amazing.

It's so close to clearing the solution is slot the plates that bolt to the block.

Sectioning the firewall for an 1/8" when you can get more than that by slotting the mount plates = hell no... IMO.

Exactly what it is. There is a movable section inside the intake that moves to allow air to bypass a section of the runner length, which makes the intake essentially a short runner intake. This improves top end hp and torque while keeping the low end hp and torque up. Even tho your butt dyno won't feel it, a real dyno shows a slight flattening or almost a dip where it opens and power curve moves back upward.

Any other Gen 3 hemi questions you have, I'll be happy to answer.

Not a bad idea. The most I can get would be about 3/16" without getting too close to the edge of the mounts. Once I get my wiper motor back, I'll see what I've got for clearance, including the stroke of the wiper arm and go from there.

We usually put in a factory 4 speed floor hump to give added room on the drivers side of the Tremic transmissions. We block off the factory shifter hole in the floor hump. We usually have a console that covers everything.
I took my 4 speed hump out and just made 1 smooth tunnel all the way back. I tried it both ways and I liked it better without the hump myself. Used Automatic carpet, Automatic Console with a 4-speed template and a 6-speed non-console Hurst shifter from SST.

Mark are you test fitting parts so after you dip the body no surprises on parts fit?

Are you going with a wiper stroker motor?

Fran: I've test fitted the engine, transmission & steering linkage. Still have to test fit the A/C-heater box & drill holes for the F&R upper door pads and tail panel trim. Stripping the paint will be the last major project before it goes to the body shop.

I'm not dipping the car.

I’m enjoying this project as well. Being retired now, I spend a few hours a day on it and then do other things. It’s not like when I was working and had to make the most of my limited time.

I sold the Road Runner a few weeks ago and that dough covers about half the cost of this project, so it’s not a huge hit in the savings account.

Bottom line is that it’s only money.
