The last of the rust removal is finally done. This patch panel just needs to be welded in.

The green colored firewall patch....

I'm guessing that is a modification to accommodate the modern A/C from the 6.4 setup?

Yes, this car came with factory AC & the Classic Air kit comes with a metal panel to place on top of the firewall to cover all the factory holes. I didn't want the plate to be on top of the firewall, so I had him cut out the old metal and weld the Classic Air plate in place.

All that fed lead covering small dings, why not do it before priming. My answer would be to cover bare metal to keep it rust free?

Once the primer goes on, you then can see all the minor flaws and scratches in the body filler & as such, the spot putty is always on top of the primer. There will be a couple more coats of primer laid down and sanded to get the flaws out.

The red patches look like spot putty to me, a common thing when addressing small imperfections.

Nitro-Stan.. That is old school product for filling fine scratches in bondo typically. Most use spray poly these days but I would guess this guy has been doing body work for decades and simply has his own ways of doing it and is sticking with it. It's amazing how many times a car get gone over to get it perfect.

Some more imperfections filled.

One last minor patch to be put in the rear seat area.

When that body makes its way back home and joins up with the rest of all those parts you have, watch out. This is going to be the very best of two worlds coming together!! After all these years of playing with cars, for me anyway, this is power, reliability and old school at it's finest. Can't wait!
