Spectacular work David, as usual. very cool.Cap passes are done, and it’s all still square. It actually does take all day for me to do this - all 150A pedal pulse.

Next up: probably enclosing the torque boxes to create jacking points. Maybe engine mounts.

I was nervous since it had been 6 weeks since my last TIG weld, but a bit of practice on some coupons got me back in the groove.Spectacular work David, as usual. very cool.
Not shallow - focused on the end product. Here’s the rendering.nice heat penetration

The color scheme is very much inspired by a type 39 lotus toy car my dad handed down to me. Interior is all business, and oriented toward maximizing the driver experience - three pedals, no cup holders, 8 point cage, center tach, flat bottom aero, and so on.
Your question is timely, because there’s a good bit of distance between where I am, and where it’s going.

Of course. It’s all 1x shiplap and flipped 105 siding - all pine, no stain or sealer, and aging nicely 7 years after install.Could you post some pictures of your walls for me, I'm getting ready to finish my addition and love your garage. I've got piles of maple, cherry, walnut, hickory and ash laying around so wood is free lol.
Not always. It’s a space made for work. Cleaning and putting away are always the first and last things on the work list. I don’t work as well when it’s not tidy.David's shop is always so spotless and organized....damn it.
Thanks, that looks amazing! I know most will say it's terrible for lighting but hey... I like character and you can always overkill on lighting lol. Debating on whether or not to sheet it first just to minimize dust penetration and drafts, could just sheet it in plastic?Of course. Fun project.

I tend to agree on the lighting. If I need more, I can install more LEDs. They're pretty cheap. I put in R19 batting into the walls, which sealed it up quite a bit. Alternatively, you could use Tyvek and skip the insulation if that wasn't needed. Thanks, that looks amazing! I know most will say it's terrible for lighting but hey... Mid chassis crossmember is off to the laser shop. I'm trying to design one a week, and keep the pipeline for assembly fully loaded. Also, I get to multi-task while traveling for work.Intricate!
Really great skills there David. You can continue to color me jealous of them...Working on the mid-chassis crossmember. Lots of welding still to go.

You should see the stack of garbage junk that precedes a finished part. A friend of mine calls that the, “tuition pile.”Really great skills there David. You can continue to color me jealous of them...
I aspire to be one. Fabricating on this car is my therapy.Overachiever!!
