I had a vesectomy three weeks ago and was cleared to start running again by the urologist after a week. I took ten days off and went full force into my 4-6 daily mile runs. After the fourth day I noticed that my hamstring tendon was a bit sore. So, I took a few days off to heal and noticed that me knee was stiff and swollen. My Uris acid is always high so I suspected gout. After two days of immense pain I went to my orthopedic surgeon to drain my knee of 80cc of Da gout. Anyone thirsty?

Crap!

I am sure that was very uncomfortable with 80cc? Wow...enough acid to charge a motorcycle battery, lol

Glad things are better!

RC, you just made me pee my adult diaper. Yeah, I should have cropped my pulled up boxers out of the shot.

You poor Bastard! SON of a. Yeah, next time lower the camera or at least warn us.
Running? I am happy to walk without ******* falling. Especially at work. Speedy recovery and I hope it was a success.

If your better half gets knocked up, they cut the wrong wire.

That had to be pretty uncomfortable. I know.... I had an infection in my right knee, and they took out that much fluid every 2 days, for 3 weeks. It looked like gray egg-drop soup, with white strings of dead flesh.....and smelled like a dead animal. Careful with those knees. I've done it all with them and surgeries. Those pics made me ache.

Wow you beat me. Get my knee drained about two times a year only in the winter from Bursitis. It actually gets to the point were it feels good.

What was we all expecting?? A glass of Kool-Aid?
Speedy recovery buddy....hope you're firing blanks soon.

We could have done without the visual. I can never unsee that pic of you in the diaper.....

Thank goodness Habib pulled it back to reality.....

Swollen bursa are no fun at all.
I hope the doctor recommended using an Ace elastic bandage on that knee for a few months.
Day and night.
If it's properly tight, it will sting at night as the tension gently removes the swelling in the knee.
You are hitting on that knee harder than the other, so be aware of how you are running.
Avoid heavily cushioned sole running shoes, which do not let the support built into your foot aches do their job, but transfer all the shock to the knees.

I have a torn miniscus and an incomplete tear in my ACl in my left knee so I tend to favor that knee over my right knee. I also run in Newton shoes that are minimalistic compared to New Balance or Nike. I had to change my running style with the Newtons a few years ago and learn to mid foot strike instead of heal strike to absorb shock better through the foot and leg. I was prescribed Niacin by my cardiologist who unwittingly forgot that my uric acid levels are always high (family history). I hope this is the last time, but most likely it is not. It is better today and can atleast walk with a slight limp and minimal pain.
