I love the short bed regular cab 2 door trucks. I have no kids so I don't need nor do I want a 4 door truck.

The Challenger and Chargers were increasing in sales for many years in a row. Once the word got out that they were being cancelled, it seemed to me like instead of people rushing in to get one before they were all gone, that people felt abandoned and quit buying Dodge products.
Who else sees it the same way?

Chryslers been kicked around for years and in many ways considered a bastard child. They were bought, added to, divided, had money stolen and the list goes on. People don't like buying a car and fearing they've bought a last call vehicle. The question about Chrysler is no different than when you buy a car, is it restorable or is it a parts car. They need a real buyer with a real goal in mind.

Yes, my co-worker has a midnight blue standard cab/short bed with 3.92 gears. That truck scoots pretty good. It may be one of the last few built.

I've owned a half dozen new trucks over the years 2014 ram "the best". 2022 Ram "the worst" reminded me when I used to buy GMC trucks had a 2011, vibrated from day one, had a 2000, a 2005, both were pretty nice trucks. Bottom line pencil pushers cheapened the Ram just like GMC, maximize profits, screw the consumer. Only new American truck I would consider is a Ford, and they are a crap shoot too.

Tim needs a free hand to make the changes needed to turn things around. Unless Stellantis gets it head out of it's butt and realizes that this market is not the same as Europe them nothing will change.

Ford, Chevy and GM share the same crappy 10 speed auto they jointly developed and which has a high failure rate and overall reliability for the GM twins is poor. Toyota Tundras are coughing and spitting out failed turbos off their 6 cylinder (also no V8); gas mileage sucks, and your head brushes the headliner in the rear. RAMs are high priced (but discounted greatly), have cracked exhaust manifold and failed cams on some Hemis. If you want high reliability, the answer is simple - don’t buy a pickup truck.

But on the plus side my RAM Limited rides great, is the quietest vehicle on the road I’ve owned, and has a great stereo and luxurious interior. But I bought the first extended warranty for it that I've ever purchased.

Yeah: The Rams have superior electonics and interiors to GM by a long shot. The GM's don't even have the same legroom and headroom as a Ram. All those chintzy Europeans had to do was fix the lifter and exhaust manifold problem on the Henways but they chose not to. They also chose to rape the profits from Jeep and Ram and not reinvest properly. Let em die. Then someone else can pick up the pieces and if they make some proper decisions they can prosper. UAW needs their head out of their but as well if it's going to work.
I'm trying to talk myself into a Ferd pickup but they've always seemed to be pretty good at designing crappy engines, they've been second rate to competitors engines since the Y-block days IMO. Although the Windsors were pretty good, those have been gone awhile though and the replacements haven't been very trustworthy.

Just saw an ad from my local dealer. Very nice ram mega cab short bed Cummins, 2500 srw, discounted over ten grand........ TO NINETY TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS!?! ( how much is a Cummins dually longbed? Nevermind, I don't wanna know)
And a 1500 at over $70k. Who knows what motor it had in it.

Who the heck spends that kind of money on a pickup truck? ($120k if financed for 6 or 7 years?)

I’m reading post of some buyers getting in the vicinity of $15-16,000 off total on some new RAM. Makes you wonder why they jack the pricing up so high, only to give it back in buyer incentives and discounts.

Welcome to capitalism. Prices are, to some extent, set to what people will pay. Some will negotiate the price down, some will not. We only have to look at housing over the past few years to see this.

I agree but lately with RAM you may not even have to negotiate. When I bought mine 15 months ago it was advertised $10,000 off. I made one effort to get them to throw in the cost of the tri-coat paint but the owner turned us down - said he had throw everything he had into the advertised price. Salesman said under his own authority he could throw in a free service and tinting the front windows for me. At the time I was pretty happy with about 13-1/2% off and no dealer markup crap, so I took it. But since then sales have really tanked.

We got a 1500 bighorn in August, it was a leftover ‘23. I really wanted a hemi without the e-torque bs, but those went away in ‘22 I think. We ended up with a nicely optioned bighorn with the eco diesel for 20% off msrp. Wife and I both like the truck, it’s super smooth and quiet and gets good mpg. We aren’t going to use it for truck stuff, just car duties, so it should last pretty well since we won’t be working it hard.

They should be able to do better than 10 grand. A friend just bought a 392 Durango 2 weeks ago & it was discounted 17 grand off of sticker (which was in the mid 70s).
