Time for a show lets see the 71-74's

Here is mine, just bought not long ago. I will get it running before I get to far into looking for parts. It is a 1972 charger in pretty good shape, I think. I was told the other day from a guy down the street, that unless it is a 383 or larger engine they are not worth fixing. HMMMMM I will prove him wrong.

Don't listen to the moron from down the street but do get rid of that cowl scoop! Looks like you have a good starting point....

Hey mach123 just call this a lesson well learned early and cheeply.
DO NOT I repear DO NOT ever listento or put any creedence in anything that fool down the street says. This would actually be a good time to part ways with him.
And above all never, never, never let him near anything other than a cinder block with a wrench and then make sure it's not your wrench.
You may have a long way to go but your head and heart is in the right place, you'll do fine. Read, read and read some more. Awise man here somewhere says build your library before building your car. It's good advise

dutch-moparman, that is one sweet-looking bird! What do you have to do to get it licensed in Holland? A few years ago my cousin in Germany got a 1970 Mustang Mach 1, and he had to remove the rear spoiler (!!!!) before he could legally drive it.

Hey Bigredbird
Have to change the sealed beams into H4 headlights. And change the exhaust, it has to enter outside the car, not under it. They also check the noise it makes ( max 92dbA)
Besides that, it is gonna be checked over completely, so I have to service the brakes and so on. Ordered some mufflers and tailpipes today. Takes almost two weeks to get them. They are imported from the USA.
Need some tyres too, the Street ET tyres are almost worn.
So have to save some cash first.:icon_mrgreen:

roadrunner wannabe

This is my 71 Sebring that I bought new in January 1972. I always wanted a Roadrunner and the plan was to "clone" it as a Roadrunner one day. I bought a car for parts, a SSP that happened to be the same color as my car. The interior on the parts car was pretty decent, but it didn't look like a roadrunner and I decided to stay with a small block. So now it is a SSP. I do plan on changing back to my ralley wheels when I get some tires soon.

Finally, got to pick up one of my cars from the body shop yesterday!!! Monday I get to start getting interior items ordered! Anyone have suggestions on where to get a COMPLETE blue interior kit??

Doesn't sound too terrible for the wallet, but every penny counts these days. Can you say a little more about the exhaust "entering outside the car"? I'm trying to picture that and not getting a very clear image.... Post some pics when the parts arrive?

Sorry, Did not express myself very clear. I ment that the exhaust opening at the end, should enter outside the car. Now after the mufflers the exhaust stops. So the exhaust gasses stay under the car. It is missing its tailpipes. When I fit these the end of the exhaust enters just outside the rearvalance.
I have seen that the mufflers need to be replaced also, so I have ordered 3" flowmaster mufflers (40s) and flowmaster tailpipes.
This week I am gonna to check the compression rate of the engine. It runs on racing fuel. Sometimes it is used for cars that are not often driven. But it also could be that the compression is way to high. I would like to drive it on pump gas. Noticed the aluminum heads, perhaps they have to be changed back to iron heads.
I will post any progress.

NICE.

Of course I'm now (also) partial to 73 Sats!

Great car, Legendary for sure ( have you considered white interior?)

Nice projects Doright! I think the envy bug biting over that black finned, riding on air beauty! My one and only big-un was a 59 Imperial, not quite as fancy i don't think as the New Yorker, even on a dirt road, what a quiet comfortable ride.. Hope when you get that one done you;ll show us, although it doesn't look bad at all the way it sits! Good luck with them all!
