Tires for 15 x 5.5 and 15 x 8 wheels on a 64 Wagon

I have 215/70 X 15 tires on the front of my '64 Polara. The trailing edge of the front fender curls in quite a ways, and the tire was snagging it at full turn. I had to trim away some of the fender by the brace rod so tire would clear.
I do not want to trim my fenders, good info on the 215/70s.

I'll probably throw both wheels/tires I have on the back of the wagon and take a short, careful, drive and see if there is any interference.

I've got a pair of 235-75x15s for my 62, on seven inch rims, for the front.
Thr ONLY way they work is because a previous owner at some point cut the leading edge of the fender back three or four inches!
