Time to start looking at tires, what do you like and keep in mind they will be 285 35 19s. So far I'm leaning towards BF Goodrich's seeing how they're the only American made ones I've found.

Does it have to be made in America?

I've always liked Nitto's for an inexpensive all round performance tire, but not sure what you're looking for in characteristics...

I just wanted to see what was available first that was American made. Thanks for the link, nice to see Firestones on there being I've always like they're Firehawks. The intended use is daily cruising but with over 500hp I want something with some good grip for some hard launches. Thanks for the suggestion, I've heard good things about the Nitto's.

FloridaOctober2013 015.jpg If already have 19's, why not go all the way?

Yep +1 for the nitto rep, the NT-555's I got are supposed to be great tires for the money. Hopefully I'll know in a few months how they drive haha

What rim width are you running? I have 20x10 and purchased 285/30/20 Michelin super sports. If I were to buy again I would have gone 295. 285 don't have enough tire "bulge" kind of stretched.

I did 19x8 up front with 245/35/19. They have a bit more bulge in the tire. Doesn't match as well as with the 285.

I have "one" 2007 Shelby GT500 left (196 miles)
I recently sold my "driver" 2007 Shelby GT500.
After 2 sets of CRAPPY "Goodyear F1 Supercar" tires I finaly installed the Nitto Extreme 555ZR and I loved them!
The new owner now in N. Dakots loves them too!

Thumbs up on the Nitto 555s!

Funny you should mention that, I really wanted 295 35 19's but do a search on that size "almost non existent". 285s are really close but I will continue to keep my eye open for the 295s but so far not many options. Here's a pic of the 18 & 19s I ordered.US_Rambler_Gunmetal_500.jpg

295/30/19 try. 30 series there is a bit more. 35 is a lot less options. I had a hard time finding 20's. 19's will give u a closer to factory overall diameter tire too I believe.

With any power, you'll blow off almost any low profile tire. There isn't enough sidewall to absorb the shock of the power. There is a reason that dedicated dragstrip cars run tires with big sidewalls.
I have 295-45-18s on the rear of the Charger, Nitto 555s. Great tire.

Another vote for the Nitto's.
I have had pretty good luck with Falken FK452 tires as well, they seem to hook up decent on a 400HP Fox Mustang.

Lets hope that doesn't happen, haha. I guess I look at it like this "look at the 550hp Vipers" they seam to do fine on them. I just really like the feel of a solid car going around the turns not a fan of feeling my tire roll under Erhhhhhhhhhhh.

Looks like the verdict is in NITTO'S. I'll start digging around and see what's available in these sizes with the Nitto 555's. Thanks guys

I really like the looks of the Falkens too, They're a big supporter in Supercross (which I'm really ino) so I've looked at them.
