My 65 Post sedan needs a floor pan, im fairly convinced that im going to go TKO 600 with this car.

just wondering if anyone had any experience with a swap and had any pics or tips.

curious about what shifter situations one has with this as far as placement and offsets.

Don't purchase an early (2003) TKO. 2-3 high rpm shift issues. Laters were fixed or fix-kit available. Otherwise perfect for my needs.

thanks for the heads up, the plan was to buy one from Liberty Gear, and get the full synchronized mod done before it shipped.

ive seen some set ups with a rear shifter placement, and a few with center placement.

curious as to what a 65 B body would require.

I just put one in my 69 Charger, the rear most position is right under the torsion bar cross member on mine and actually had to be milled down to clear it. I'm using the center position on mine and it came out really close to where the auto linkage hole was only on the top of the tunnel. I have pics of what it took but I'm not sure how much difference there is between our cars?

I may have a photo.. I did a transplant in my 65 Belvedere. Yes the early ones, (mine 2004) you couldn't shift at high RPM.Forget about power shifting.Yes I've heard that it has been corrected now.I got the complete setup from Kiesler as they were the only guys at the time. With a straight front seat we used a later B console shifter.Too close to my leg for me. Modified a Hurst competion plus shifter handle that had a better feel. This was when the shifter was centered in the floor. Now I believe they are set up for the factory floor hump. Trimmed a few excess lugs from the case to fit the floor pan.Other than that pretty straight foward. With the .68 overdrive I ran 3.55 first but it lugged the engine in high at 60 mph (27'' tall tire)went to 3.73 that I liked better. Put 30,000 miles on that car and drove it across country twice. With a 451 stroker it would get 20 mpg easy if you kept your foot out of it.Sorry,,That's the only crappy photo I have.

I forgot to say, and I think the new kit all have it is the hydraulic clutch/ throw out bearing. A few years later we did a 68 Charger and that was way better than linkage.

This is passenger side which wasn't bad but one of the bolt heads was touching the floor.

This is the Keisler mod to the rear most shifter location to make it clear the cross member, it won't fit without doing this or cutting the cross member.

The next 2 pics show why the 4 speed hump is recommended, lots of clearance issues.

The hole didn't need to be this big but it made making a new hump easier.

And this is what I made to cover the hole.

Hope this helped and like I said this is in a 69 Charger so it may be different for you.
