Topping out at about 90mph

Wonder what trans fluid temp is? I don't know what it should be? If if you could run a thermo sender down dipstick temporarily to get a reading, may help?

Yes, like i said maybe it is slipping but im not noticing? Ive seen may trannys with some glitter but drive around just fine.

Hmmm...ya, maybe on a "broken-in" trans. Either way, glitter aint a good thing IMHO. Could you post a pic to see how much glitter?

smell the trans fluid from a bottle then smell your dipstick, if its slipping you can smell the difference

This was last week, dont have a pic. Trans barely has 1k on rebuild. First time changing the fluid.

Your 440 catch the COVID? Infection like that would keep it from breathing!

Seems like you're stuck on "it's new" and aren't accepting help! It's either stuck in 2nd, drive band is slipping or the convertor is fawked.

Its not that im not accepting help, just trying to eliminate one thing at a time. If the trans is shot so be it, but it doesn’t feel like its slipping. Maybe i just need someone with some more experience than me to drive it and give me there opinion. This is my first build, so maybe i just don’t know what it should feel like.

The math doesn't lie....
With a 25" tire and 3.54 gears, 5000rpm gets you 100mph and 5800rpm will get you 120.
Don't reckon air resistance is going to make up the difference to what you're seeing, unless
that thing is driving sideways.

What kind of tachometer is it?
Is it adjustable for number of cylinders & wrong...?

I have never had a Mopar that wouldn't run at least 120-125. I don't know what the problem is but there have been some good ideas circulating here, so I'm sure you will locate it. Even my 56 Desoto Wagon tops out at 127 and that's saying something for that 6000 lb. tank.

That you'd be nuts enough to run a '56 wagon up to 127 tells me a lot about you. :)
