trick flow 240 heads on a 440, patriot headers, 72 satellite..cant tighten all the spark plugs, or get plug wires on. they said headers would fit,, they fit,,,were these heads designed to be installed on a car that would never get started? gotta have plug wires on....just ranting

The problem is your headers. I have the TTI's mentioned above on 2 B bodies with Trick Flow 240's. Perfect fit....

The only problem I ran into with the TTI headers was on my Roadrunner with TF 240's and it was because we used studs on the cyl heads and the flanges hit a few of the studs.
I clearanced the flanges and all was good!
I have TTI's on both my cars and am very happy with fit and spark plug clearance!

When they say "they fit", they mean the flanges bolt pattern is the same. It doesn't mean that the tubes won't interfere with something, or that you can get plugs in or wires on. The patriots were probably designed for straight plug/iron head usage.
Sorry.
Then again, the pats aren't that expensive that I would be loathe to take a hammer to them. HAMMER TIME!

Just like the floor plans for a shopping mall I was given a few years ago, the design for the headers was probably done by some Grad Student using Google Earth.

We used to do installs on different cars with different headers. It mostly depended on the brand... Hooker, Doug Thorley, Appliance, Blackjack, Hedman, etc, etc. some easier than others

You have the option to run Accel "shorty" spark plugs and Direct Connection used to make some "any angle" swivel spark plug wire ends......and a hammer if necessary

I have had good success using a decent air hammer with a well rounded tip, and massaging areas around spark plugs for clearance. You should be well versed in air hammer usage though.

i just purchased a set of through the hood zoomies to put on the car so i can do the cam break in,, then im buyin a set of TTI's, its going to sound fantastic here in town spinnin this 440

actually 1100 dollar headers, plus the 200 for the zoomies, its only money ya cant take it with you when you die....REALLY lookin forward to the sound of them zoomies

I saw that Engine Masters episode....man, I thought that mess was going to make a difference for sure but it didn't!! Yeah, I know this is thread is old. IIRC, it did make a difference when the tubes were nearly flat. I might need to watch it again so see if they got them that flat but again, iirc, someone did a test that was similar and the tubes were just about flat before it restricted the flow.

Back in the 70s we used Cyclone brand headers on a couple B bodies.
Those Cyclones were as cheap as it gets.
Running full size starters then , had to unbolt the header and pull a mount bolt to swap the always header cooked starters.
We became pretty damn efficient at beating the crap out of tubes.
Rosebud tip on the torch, 1/2 drive impact socket on a extension and hammer.
Beautiful concave, half the time it was not were you needed it
