I just finished swapping my 440 into my 73 Roadrunner and now I'm getting the exhaust installed. I purchased TTI 1 3/4 headers with 3" collectors and a 2 1/2 inch exhaust. For now I installed Hp Manifolds I had and when I purchased the exhaust from TTi I included the head pipes because I don't want to destroy the Headers during cam break in. I'm honestly concerned if the headers will even fit being as there is barely any room left between manifold and inner fender and I'm not interested in cutting it up. If not I'll run manifolds and sell the headers though I waited about 6 weeks for them and paid just under 1,200 so it will be a major bummer. Beyond that I was curious if anyone has installed one of these exhausts on a 73 b body? I'm finding that none of the mounting holes for the hangers that are supposed to be there on most cars are not on mine. They have these large hangers that go at the back of the muffler and it looks like I'm supposed to drill holes through the floor pan behind the back seat to mount the brackets that they attach to. The rear hangers for the tail pipes appear to be in a different position than the hole so I'll have to drill through frame rails as well. kind of a pain in the *** for over 900 dollars shipped. They are supposed to be great so I guess we'll see.

Their hangers suck. They didn't work on my '68 either so I made my own...

There is a major difference on the passenger inner fender between small block and big block cars. when you swap a big block into a small block car you have two choices, cut the fender, or learn to live with tight clearance on the passenger side.

A rubber splash shield covers the hole, and gives more room to change spark plugs and work on upper control arms. As far as the hangers go, why don't you use or modify your original hangers? All Road runners were dual exhaust cars, even the 318s. Good luck.

If I had the original hangers I definitely would but the person who had the car before me had an exhaust put on at an exhaust shop. I gotta find some pictures of where the original 73 exhaust was hung from and see if I can make something work. As far as the inner fender goes swapping the inner fender definitely is something I'm interested in doing at this point. I may pull the passenger header out of the box just to do some measuring and see what kind of room I have. As of right now there is maybe 3/4 of an inch from manifold to inner fender.
