Only worry now, is since my #1 Outboard was removed couple days ago, noticed the Brass idle air screws are both stripped.. :-( 1 thing or another. There is NO used baseplate for sale. Like to try keep it OEM as possible.
Jebus! Seems no one stocks them...

If the threads are intact, there is no problem removing the screws.I have a jig to drill the screw dead center and it is easy to re thread. The biggest problem is that most who try and drill either go off center take getting into the side of the treads or go completely through, once you go past the threads, the only way is to re drill the passage either 3/16" or 1/4" and install a threaded insert.Probably 3/4 of the carbs I get have at least one broken screw, the cork seal being 50 yrs old is like concrete,as soon as you try to turn the screw, one side of the head breaks of then you're in trouble.

You might want to think about buying a new carb from Summitt.
Yup. Done, new 350 Center from Holley, cant find a 2300 2BBL out there right now.
I may just rebuild the 3rd.
Hell, I'll have all 3 OEM Six Pack carbs off the motor, cleaned out wrapped in plastic soon... Could probably recoup some of that horrible cost...lol
OR? If ever sold the car, I can honestly say "Comes WITH the Original Carbs".. Blue gaskets are looking to be a MUST

I would not sell the original carbs. Save them.
