Easy undercoating removal
Trying to finish up the little things on my 64 Belvedere and wanted to remove the undercoating from the inner fenders. The first one I did the old fashioned way with heat gun and scraper, realizing I won't live long enough to finish them all, I decided to look for a better solution.
I covered the inner fender with paper towels and soak it in mineral spirits. The towel conforming to the curves allowed the minreal spirit to soak in. Giving the mineral spirits about an hour, then using a stiff scraper, the undercoating peeled up , took five minutes to complete. If the coating is extremely thick may have to do this in stages.
Beat the out of the heat gun and two hours of hard labor.
