Ok, I am in need of an open breather for the Mopar Performance aluminum covers.
Both sides have a twist on cap , pass side only has the pcv , but I dont have an open breather on drivers side .
It needs one

I have found twist in breathers that will replace the cap. Or else you can find a grommet and tube to go to the air cleaner. The one thing about those covers were the lack of quality fitting pieces to do the job neatly. The are kind of a bastard cover in my opinion.

I recently bought a set of Micky Thompson cast covers. Scott Drake makes a twist on oil tube that's a restoration piece for a Mustang but, the tube will accept a stock Mopar breather, which allowed me to use it to hook up the air hose to my stock unsilenced air cleaner.

Don't know if this helps you but, maybe an option for those covers too.

I just ordered a breather.

Will see how it works

I bought an inexpensive breather off of Azon and it works fine. Search this....

Spectre Performance 4273 Twist-In Oil Filler Breather Cap

I've got ye ol'Mr Gasket breather on my mopar performance valve covers.

...or bend the tabs on the cap...
IIRC, I once added a push-in breather to a set of MP cast covers by drilling out one of the blank holes & using a grommet.

That should fit. For some reason some fit to loose and you might have to make a thin shim to go behind the sealing washer. Then again you might be good.
The Spectra I bought is actually pretty tight. I use it as a breather and oil fill.

Thread revival - I just bought the Spectra one also and it is a very tight fit with the oil fill hole in my cast aluminum Mopar valve covers. I thought you meant it seals tight, but it is actually difficult to insert into the hole before twisting tight. At first I thought it didn't fit at all. It took a few tries making sure it was inserted square and with some down force and it locked in place. It's a lot tighter insertion fit that the flat mopar twist cap that I had on before this.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a different twist on breather cap that has a bit more diameter clearance with the cast aluminum Mopar valve cover holes, but still seals well? The Spectra one is working, but it's not ideal.

I have the post #11 Mopar breather in mine. Your cover does have a baffle under that cap, right?

The diameter was ok on mine. If I recall correctly it came with two rubber seals for the vc sealing surface. I used only one. it was snug to turn but works well.

I don't understand the problem, just use your stock breather & PCV....

nothing about my engine is stock. It was a custom built 451 and has a non-stock air cleaner with no nipple. After the motor arrived, when installed, I put on a PCV cap on passenger side and flat cap on driver side. I've never done this before. I didn't know that a PCV without a breather cap is pointless. I recently ordered an aftermarket breather cap and it's a very tight clearance fit.
