USAF from 1981 -2001 (I retired just before 9-11), Persian Gulf Vet, also deployed to support operations in the Former Yugoslavian states. I spent my first 6 years working Comm/Nav on B-52D, G, and H models and KC-135s at Dyess and Castle, the next 6 were on C-130 (real airplanes screw themselves through the air) AWADs birds at Rhein Main Germany, and the last 8 were in Ground and weapons safety at Grand Forks (home of the "Frozen Chosen") and MacDill.

USMC 1987-present and still going. Aviation sheet metal/composites as a youngin now they put me behind a desk to look out for the youngins. E-8 so far and maybe see that last rocker. All over the world many times, Gulf and Afghanistan too. Pays pretty good these days so no hurry to gamble on my next job. Thanks everyone out there for serving.

Hi, guys, Thanks to all of you who have served. I made this thread a sticky just like I did on fabo.

I'd give my left leg to have those experiences again. The older I get, the less I remember the long marches and cold nights but those drunken stupors and nice ladies will live on forever... Run, Jump, play. Repeat!

Active duty AF from 71-75. I enlisted to avoid being drafted and sent to Vietnam. The AF promptly trained me how to load munitions on airplanes then sent me to Camp New Amsterdam, HOLLAND for 3 years :upside down:
Yes, I left the US when I was 18 and came back 3 years later and I was 35!
When I got off active duty I promptly joined the AF Reserve and became a C-141 Loadmaster, where I stayed until 2000. 29 total years, retired as an E-8 (no body died and vacated an E-9 slot). I have been too many places to list, including Antarctica and Desert Storm.
Loved all the flying around and the comraderie, don't miss the BS, do miss the flying.
Thanks to all of you still doin it, I dropped off many poor souls in some real shitholes around this world and it was always a great feeling to be able to bring goodies to them and to pick them up and bring them home.

Joined the Army 'cause I manage to get a buncha' speedin' tickets and got a little outa' hand with drink. All I ever done in the Army involved drinkin' or driving and a few times Both.
Had a blast runnin' round Europe, on duty and off. Got out and was thinking of going back for a while til I manage to break my leg, on a motorcycle. Family was after me to give up bikes, so I bought a '74 Cuda and went Drag racing.

Now we've got '10 Challenger SE, '72 Duster 360, '68 Roadrunner in need of restoration and a '95 Ram 3500 in case I need to tow something.
