Belay this, found it all on a different decoder. Only thing it doesn't tell me is the difference between the two letter codes for the 400.....gotta love night shift.

Which code is on your fender tag: E64 or E68?

E64 400 8 Cyl - 4 Bbl
E68 400 8 Cyl - 4 Bbl [HP]

I would expect to see E64 on your fender tag since the fifth character of your VIN is "N".

I suspect your car came from the factory with single exhaust and a "lean burn" emissions control system.

A car with the E68 / 400-4V [HP] engine would have come with dual exhaust.

This makes sense, it's got single exhaust.
