Volkswagen Beetle with a Hemi??

Ok. So not limited by space it sounds. And makes sense that you could do a V-8 in the rear still. But it would just need the plumbing and air movement as you alluded to.

Could a V-8 be modified to be air cooled? Seems nearly anything we can think can be done these days.

And please forgive me if you sense even the most remote bit of disrespect here. Absolutely none intended. But the moment I hear the word “can’t” the wheels start spinning in my mind of how one “can”. Hence my initial question. I appreciate the time you took to explain there sir.
In a VW Beatle under the bonnet/rear hood, it won't fit,
V8 is too long, like 12"s (?) longer front to rear
possibly too tall, albeit with new EFI manifold combos are low now
Engine, it will stick out the rear & have to highly modify that area
There's people that have done it, it's water/liquid-cooled thou
it has a radiator (probably elect. fans) somewhere & plumbing
& a water pump...

The domestic water/liquid-cooled V8 would be tough to air-cool...
Like said before 'a jacketed domestic V8 block'
with 'cylinder sleeves' inside an exterior casted block
very lil' air space between them
,
virtually no way to get enough air around it
be a tough road getting anywhere near enough air to cool them
especially most of the cooling in a domestic V8, water/liquid cooled engines
is circulated around or above & cools the combustion chambers
where most all the heat is generated...
I don't see it being air-cooled easily, not designed for that at all...

Hence the overgrown Beetle with the Hemi. Thanks a ton for the explanation Budnicks. All good stuff IMO.
