Well you've only got next Sat and Sunday and then it's time to wait and wonder until next season...

Or go south and run it after Christmas :headbang:

Well thats my plan. my sons 1st basketball game yesterday morning was a priority. threw my whole game plan off. i had to reroute the trans. lines from passenger to drivers, switch shifters, switch driveshafts, change tranny mounts, swap out flywheel to flexplate, remove starter shims,it took way longer than i anticipated. plus it started getting cold and i was getting tired.
Cant believe it took so long and not finished. i use to be able to do this stuff in a few hours.

1st off I'm no tranny guy... You no doubt already tried this stuff "but", Maybe wrong trans linkage arm on shifter or trans, or maybe even cable in the wrong hole on the trans linkage arm{if it has multiple holes}, or just possibly out of adjustment between gears or something... I'm just going to be spitballing here, did you have to do any 1st/reverse or 2nd gear band adjustments before the install ? have you been able to checked line pressure yet ? Fluid foaming ? did you check the level in neutral ? did the converter go in easily ? I know this post probably won't help much, if any, but sometimes a 2nd set of eyes will work wonders... Good luck have fun...

going to try again. just readjusted the linkage, might have been off, going out again to start it up and check it.
i need to get this garage all cleaned up. its a never ending project going on over here.:eusa_whistle:

Did you fill the convertor before putting it together?
The band adj might be it too, and one of them you'll have to get the pan off to check though.

i have reverse!!
converter has fluid in it and i went threw the gears 6 times to get fluid moving.
we adjusted the band prior to installing the trans.
somethings not getting my clutches to engage or something with line pressure.
But i have reverse with the transbrake being depressed in nuetral.

i hope i dont have to take it out again. this is really getting old with this very expensive 727.

Reverse is always the first thing that works with low PSI. Did you get a pressure reading on the output "front" cooler line in gear?

hi chris in reverse the high clutch and low band are applied,in first the forward clutches come on,along with the sprag and on some units the low band.if the linkage is good, you san take the valve body down and air check the forward clutchesor also called therear clutch.in the front of the case you will see two rectangularpassages, then a bolt hole next to the bolt hole aretwo round passages .the one you want to check is the second one blow air in it with arubber tipped blow gun.it should sound solid if it dont a ring could be broken, the trans would have to come outif you are in a jam i could fix it for you or sendyou theparts and walk you through it.later johnny.

johnny thanks,:headbang: i want to get this weekend for the last horrah. need to get a few decent passes on this thing before winter comes.
how far are you from Woodmere long island?
ill get it out tomorrow afternoon after work.i dont have much time left.

I wonder if it would be worth putting another valve body in it to test things out. Maybe something is sticking in the VB you're using???? Its just a pan gasket and an hour or so of time....

woodmere is in the 5towns area,i am in east meadow about themiddle of long islandit is about 30 to 45 min from woodmere

maybe ill just get it to you to see whats up. im missing something here. its got a griner low band transbrake valvebody in it. new 5 passes on it.

thanks going to try that tomorrow afternoon, hopefully its just that. its a griner low band vb.new cant see thats the problem.

Ok, I looked in my trans book.

How many quarts of oil have you put in so far? It says to check line pressure and fluid level, or it could be the valve body.
If it isn't either of those then your looking at sprag not holding.
broken planitary,
It could be you have a servo haning up.
or it could be a rear clutch.

Now with this all being said it's a new tranny so I would lean towards line pressure, low fluid and valve body.

I would say.. You need to do a line pressure test 1st for sure to see were you are, that will tell you a ton... I don't remember, who's/what brand or company trans did you buy it from ?, is it second hand or straight from the original source ? what do they say about no forward gears ? it may be worth calling them {whom ever} for warranty issues at a minimum, I would before you do any work on the thing to void the warranty even on a race trans... Most of the custom shops will be glad to help instead of shipping costs & warranty issues... Have you tried to disconnect the trans-brake switch/button/solenoid, {maybe backwards wiring or something} it may be the issue, shorting possibly or causing the trans to be stuck between 1st & reverse that what a trans-brake does when you activate the button... Do you have the correct filter & extension for the deep pan, there are 2 distinctively different filters between the early 727 trans or 68 & later trans {I think it is} 1 has 3 large holes, the other has only 2, if you have the wrong filter it will not let the pressure build properly... Just spit-balling here... Good luck...
