OK, so, I am ordering some new leaf springs... After reading alot I think I have decided on going with the super stocks... My question is, should I go with the 3,600lb springs or 3,400lb ones? Will it be a noticeable difference between the two? I want everything to stiffen up and ride a little higher, but not be too ridiculous for the street, so I was thinking the 3,400lb springs might be a little softer and a bit better for that. Is that logic flawed?

Basically what I want to have is streetable suspension, while still having it worthy to take to the track every once in a while if I feel like it... From everything I gather reading online the super stocks should fit the bill. But no one says anything about weight...

Edit: Also, its for a '73 satellite Sebring Plus if that makes a difference or not...

If they are setup the same as 68-70's, I think you would want the HD model and not the super stocks.

What do you mean by set up the same as 68-70's? Why would HD's be a better choice if it IS set up the same?

I would call Eaton springs - both for the information you seek, and to order the springs. That's what I did, and quickly found out the 4 or 5 other spring sellers I looked at gave me the wrong info, and wanted to sell me the wrong springs.

The heavy duty springs were stock on the Hemi & high performance 440's. From what I understand the super stocks are more for racing applications, giving a much harsher ride and raising the rear of the car more than you would want on a street car.

I see. Yea, I called the people at EATON's and I called ESPO and talked to both, asked for their reccomendations, and they said the exact same thing. I went ahead and went with the ESPO springs, XHD with 1" over stock height.

Here is my 73 Roadrunner that i installed HD springs on Last year. It has settled a little but still a tad high for my liking. The superstock would make it even higher and also has an extra leaf on the Pass side. 1011994_1383454665205876_207871559_n.jpg

Thats what everyone I called said... Said the Super Stocks are great for the track, not so much for the street... Far too stiff and too high they said. They said for every day driving, with occasional use on the track, go with the HD's, for mostly track use and rarely driven on the street, go with the super stocks... SO, I went with the HD's! Are those stock height HD's on your R/R?

I purchased them from Classic Industries Part Number MR3124 73-74 B-Body HD RR Leaf Springs but they weren't cheap. I believe i paid $449 + shipping so real pricey. If I remember correctly i had to use 1972 mounting plate because the center hole and in 73 rear spring isolators were used.

Also, SS springs are made to the 'A' body length so you have to use extended front hangers for all the others. Years back a buddy bought some for his 72 Demon. I don't remember the spring rate but they raised the back of the car several inches and even after removing 2 leaves, the car was still several inches high. Bad thing about that is 'A' body cars already have minimum caster settings and raising the rear makes it worse.
