What’s a phrase that your parents used years ago

“Slicker than snot on a school teachers leg.”
“He don’t know sheep **** from Arbuckles coffee.”
“You look like you been beat on the butt with a dead rabbit.”
On referring to how many of something it was “you couldn’t swing a dead cat without hitting one of them”

Referring to the Japanese occupation of the pacific in WW2. I can hear my Grandfather say "If it wasn't for us, you would be all be speaking Japanese by now"

I don't give a good god damn what you think....go blow , if I was bugging my mom...go play out side...

The one I tell my son now...the day you can beat my *** is the day you can run the house!

“Well Can’t dance, too wet to plow”
I think it was a reference to being bored

Me: Can I go outside? Dad: I'm going to outside you in a minute.....

Mom was fairly religious, but I about crapped one day when my aunt and her were talking about somebody and I heard her say, “I wouldn’t piss up their *** if their guts were on fire.” I don’t think she particularly cared for whoever they were talking about.

No point in being half-assed when you can be all ***!

Sit down and shut the hell up.
Go to your room while i figure out what your punishment going to be.

Hotter than a 2 peckered Billy goat. I might have said hat one before. LOL Dad ad a million of em"

I have heard a lot of the same sayings above that you guys mentioned. Plus Mom's dreaded wooded spoon.
Dad: There is a place for everything, for Christ sake put it there.
Dad: Boy, when you think you can pull the wool over my eyes, you got another thought coming.
Mom: Don't eat that!
Dad: If you hang out with those kids and go to jail, don't think I'm bailing you out. You're staying there.
Not really a saying but something of interest. Dad: When you come in the house late at night, don't sneak in, make a lot of noise.
The reason being. Because when my dad was a kid and snuck in one night, his dad put a .45 to his head and said "is that you Bobby?'' Till this day I still holler "it's me" when I enter the house.
Sister: I'm telling Mom and Dad and they are going to make you go live under a bridge.

"Sit down shut up, be quiet & don't touch nothing
you speak only when you're spoken to,
little kids are supposed to be seen & not heard"

or something like that

Granny Gussy (Augusta, strict old German Matriarch)
while we sat on her plastic-covered couch/chairs/car seats etc.

we always had to be 'dressed to the tees' ,

another saying from that generation
meaning our "Sunday go to meeting/church clothes"

My parents would always laugh at Us too
they had to do it when they were kids too

She was actually a nice old lady when she/we weren't at her house
it was like that till we got into HS...
Then we could sit & talk or play cards, at the adults' table...

Another one my Dad & ex-Stepmother #3 Patty
"Eat whats on your plate or you will be eating it for breakfast,
we don't waste food here"...
(or if you served yourself, we had to clear the plate)
she was/is a total BITCH

Dad "It'll put hair on your chest", referring to anything he asked me to do that seemed impossible.
