What 6 Qt. Oil Pan Are You Useing?

Well maybe I'll have to come up with a cure for the lack of stiffness between the bolts. That's why I asked what gasket material you used.

Also I'm wondering about this one from Jegs. Is it an actual 6qt pan? Is the picture correct, it's showing reinforcements. Looks to me like it's a 5qt extended.

Right. Sometimes have to make parts work, one way or the other! (The jegs pan photo didn't show in your post. Maybe now...)

For what it's worth... I used the "stock" 5+1 and it was too close to the K-mem lip. 3/16". ended up trimming and re-welding/re-dressing the edge. have about 1/2"+ now. looks good.

The jegs pan is much deeper. All for one qt. of oil? But, that's your call.

There are probably better choices for pan gaskets out there. But, for some prices are out of bounds for me. Got my limits!
Matter of making things fit. With the thin cork gaskets on my setup...came out perfect. Matter of what you want.

Found this original 971 pan on eBay. Doesn't have the reinforcing between the bolt holes either. Guess the new one is a good reproduction...

Yeah. Including the one piece baffle. The newer one is re-shaped at the front of the 'pot' for clearance at the K-frame.
