What are the lamest factory wheels and lamest aftermarket wheels?

There is nothing sleeper about a 70 Road Runner.
No one expects to get spanked by this rusted out terd.

we can make a list of alternative uses for dog dish caps........

1 dog dish :D

2 ash tray :fool:

3 frisbee
When I bought Baby Blue the second time, in 2013, I showed the seller a picture of what the car had looked like 30 years earlier, with the factory full wheel covers in place. Will never forget his response: "hell, thems worse than those darn dog dishes, wouldn't feed my dog out of one them things!"

Thought I`d ask the opposite question of the other thread on coolest wheels. For me hands down the lamest factory are steel wheels with poverty/dog dish caps = boring, they only belong on 100% concours show cars or grandmas slant six four door Dart. Second Lamest is Rallyes, while I don`t think they look bad it`s just you see SO many of them on restored Mopars now. Lamest aftermarket wheels are pretty much anything from the `90`s, if you still have these on your car please take them off! :p

I guess it's just what context the wheels are used in. I have a similar set on my 1989 Dodge Dakota convertible and have had a lot of positive comments from people. And it is an 80's vehicle.

For some reason that reminds me of scene changes in the old Batman tv series.

When I towed home the Jigsaw Charger, I also got these....

The only reason that I took them was because they were 15 x 8 size. I had to paint them black...

I liked how they filled out the wheel openings but the fronts rubbed on the fenders so I switched to plain 15 x 7 steelies just to have some 15s on the car. I have those Cordoba 12" front discs that require a 15" wheel to clear the caliper.

Sooo, if the car originally came with dog dish, had dog dish it’s whole life, and is unrestored and still wearing its original dog dish, is that ok?

If you are entering a show in the stock category - sure, but I would have another set of aftermarket wheels for just driving around, cruise nights etc. The ones I really don`t get are the ones with big scoops, blowers, jacked up with wide tires and other visible non-stock hot rod parts but steelies and dog dishes - it`s not stock and not a sleeper with that stuff on it so why stock, boring wheels?

Here’s how I got it. Dog dish, snow tires, straight off the road from 1978! I wanted to leave it that way, but it originally came with whitewall tires, so I’m going to paint up the original rims, put on a set of whitewall tires I have that are circa 1970, and mount em up. Just to see what it looked like on the lot that day when Jerry first saw it. Might drive it up to the cruise in with em on, just for fun!

I tried the DD on two of my cars and I just hated them. The GTX had to have 15's so I was stuck with these, I did try my 15X7 Rallyes on it and they looked great as they really brightened it up but of course it was wrong for 69. I found the B7 and the ugly body colour wheels just made it look to dark and dull for my taste.
Look how stupid my old HemiCharger looks with it's born with 14X6's and trainer tires. FML.

Dork dishes are by far the lamest wheels ever put on a Mopar muscle car! These days they are on almost every car I see! Most didn't come that way from the factory. Now a days only grandpa's can afford a Mopar muscle car, so they want them to look like grandpa cars. Boring! As far as aftermarket wheels are concerned, there are so many modern wheels that are totally ugly I wouldn't know where to start!
Exactly on the painted steelies & poverty caps...
IMHFO Halibrands 'polished' kidney bean type slots

I really liked the look of the factory recall wheels too
or Chrome Road Wheels, not trim rings, 14" was a downfall

Sometimes, a wheel design is a snapshot of a specific decade. I can't wait to hear your opinions on these wheels, I loved them back in the 80's but now, they might end up in the "ugly" column. They're so dated. A lot of people put these on everything. Check 'em out, this was the day she got trailered to the body shop; 15" x 8.5" on the rear, 14" x 7" on the front of my Charger. These could still be polished up nicely and I'll sell them off. I have 15" x 9", 15" x 8" US Mags slotted wheels to put on in the spring.

I used to like these wheels I had had these wheels on my 3/4 & 1 ton trucks in the 8 lug 16.5" x 10" directionals in the 80's into the 2000's. I ran them almost 30 years.

It’s a 2 door 68-72, sorry waaaay too many “rusted out junk” cars and “sleepers” it’s way over played and everyone knows now. You can’t even build a 4 door sleeper anymore, the sleeper is so played out, nice road runner though

Might as well pay my dork dish hate tax to king Pete / @chargervert . Not just mopar, but all brands, no steel wheels

Lamest aftermarket wheel? Lots to choose from but here’s my vote and I didn’t see it mentioned, my first vehicle was a 85 dodge d250, it had these on it (internet pic, don’t have pictures of the truck,) they looked completely wrong on the truck, and they’re just fugly.
