What I have is a 1972 engine that has an Edelbrock 440 performerintake when I pulled the carb off I found two holes. One inside each plenum I don’tknow how or why they are there. Now I have never heard the engine run and I got the whole thing in a trade deal. I think they go into the EGR passage but not 100 % positive can anyone please tell me how and why they are there. Thank you very much

EGR is right. If you don't need EGR to pass any smog checks in your area, I'd ream them for a 1/8 pipe tap and plug em

Yep, EGR. I see it has plugs on the pad outside the plenum and those should work just fine.
