Replaced the trunk weatherstrip on the 63 Sport Fury. Worked on it for two days getting all the factory glue cleaned up, installed it today, looks good. Bought it at Carlisle in July with plans to install it during the non cruising months. Metro Supersoft Weathersrip would recommend it to anyone.
'67 Charger: Worked on getting the left headlight motor working again and figured out why my headlights wouldn't work on Hi and would intermittently just turn off (bad dimmer switch connection).
'71 Challenger: I made a relatively hidden, bolt on kit for putting gas struts on the Challenger's trunk lid. Only had to drill one hole in the hinge, the rest mounts off the existing holes in the support panel.. Got rid of the pesky torsion bar that kept slipping off. Thinking about knocking a few out on the CNC and seeing if they sell. With one adapter I could have it be completely "no-drill".
UPS will be delivering a package today... Getting my battery relocation kit, and a new upper radiator hose.
Last weekend I got the 8" converter and transmission back up in the car "still have some finish work to do". Got my new Aluminum Radiator installed "reason for the new hose", Got the trans oil cooler installed....
Got some front engine plates being machined at work, they will get installed once the machine shop gets them completed.
BUSY BUSY! Just wish it would warm up around here!!!!!!!!!!
Continued tuning the 440. Claimed progress as it can now spin the tires and even get a second gear chirp without bogging or stalling. Still can't floor it from idle, or open secondaries too fast but it's getting there.
It's a hoot to drive now, and it's gonna be REAL FUN when it's 100% right.
Finished up work on the tran and Converter install.... "Still need to put bolt in for trans dipstick"..
Installed remote battery kit, but still need to drill the holes for the (J) Bolts to tighten the battery & box down.
I think I spent more time fiddling around with the shifter linkage piece that fits down into the shifter arm at the trans.... They make the hole almost a press fit!!! If your not EXACTLY straight putting it down in the arm,, it doesn't go! That reminds me,,, I have to get a cotter pin for that thing today from the parts bin from the production area..
Well, not exactly today, but very recently finished up rebuilding the short block and getting her back on the road. Added a 4340 crank, coated the pistons, put in a main stud girdle, swapped it over to an external oiling system, and capped it off with a set of fabricated valve covers. I also finally bucked up and swapped out the ancient D1X Procharger and put in an F1C. Preliminary results point to it being WAAAY stouter! Now if the weather would just cooperate I could actually get a few miles on her, and get to the dyno for some tuning. I love winter, but come on Spring!!!
