What did you do to your Mopar today?

Well today we played with a few mopars,so we will start with the wana be mopar my father's 2006 Mitsubishi gallant bone stock 130k he just took it in for the (timeing belt water pump pulleys ect.) So he had the car back for a week or so ,and to fill you in my dad knows how to drive and that's it ! So he said it's making noise since he got it back . I ask why he didn't tell me this a week ago he didn't want them to touch it anymore he has this thing if someone works on your car there going to screw it up and as soon as that happens the car will just fall apart . So I gave home the keys to my 2014 charger told him to take that to work and I'll bring his back in for "warranty" and watch them the whole way.

So that was first one . Then he says by the way I changed the burnt out light in the 64 300 k series now the car won't Start ?!?!? So I decided to just look it over so charged the battery up then started the elc fault hunt ,well it turns out he installed the buld in place and it just wasn't making contact. Oh well at least it was east So now tomorrow I'll check the battery(he's not sure if he left something on or not) then hopefully take care of the exhaust manifold gaskets and collector gaskets and valve cover gaskets. It has a light drip blew out #8 gasket So after that it's on to wash and wax and a well deserved drive .

After a few years she is home! Retired in 2010, Wife left in 2011 in the middle of painting it in my garage. Fast forward put in storage. Divorced in 2012. Sold house, moved car to my brothers extra garage space.
Today got her home. Never quite finished the paint. Hood and header panel need done. Parts and pieces everywhere but all mine and ready to put back together. Last month drained the fuel, and put in fresh, new battery and engine wiring harness. Wish me luck. 20150924_123155[1].jpg20150924_123132[1].jpg

Sorry to hear about the Wife and the drama! Congrat's on the retirement. Good luck with hte build.

Went to cruise in last night and won a 40 inch led TV with 10 bucks worth of tickets, the 50/50 was $425 missed that by 10 numbers exactly, but I'm not complaining.

Drove it to work, gonna fuel it on the way home for a weekend jaunt to Death Valley.

nothing yet today....however I rebuilt the carb 2 weekends ago. Been toying with the air/fuel had a tad bit of popping adjusted the right side Thursday the left side. So when the carb was original and untouched the cold start was DONT TOUCH the accelerator and a several rounds she would start right up. AFTER ...I'm having to learn the changes. Last night was a test.... (I'm habitual and never crank and crank on one) so I spin a few rounds..nothing...two pumps...spin it a couple ....two pumps spin it and YES!!! So I let her warm up. shut her down she hits on what seems is half a round. Well Okay lets go down the street. I need just a tad bit half round out on the screw. Hard acceleration she has an ever so slight bogg and off she goes like the wind. I'm very happy. I stop after a couple of miles...shut her off. Hit the key.....YES! SO.... hmmmm where can I drive :headbang: SO ahhh heck lets stop at parts store for some misc stuff. Guys there a two 20ish year olds and the LOVE the car. After some chatting...hmmmm lets get some gas. Black guy in front looks close to my age...."hey is that a Charger"...nosir its a Sport Satellite. I bet he spent 20 minutes admiring and asking questions. I invited him to drop by our cruise in tonight. Today its fix a flat on the Accord....brake job on daughters Civic. and who knows start taking the front end out of the 67 Vert for new a arm bushings. Its a great start to great weekend!

On the '69 Coronet, I changed the transmission and rear axle fluids, installed the new EFI Fuel Tank, and installed new brake lines from the dist block back to the rear flex line, new flex line, "T" and axle brake lines too.
Still need to wire the fuel tank EFI pump and sending unit.

Friday, took the '71 Charger to the track for the first time with the E-85 carb, managed an 11.76 @ 116 MPH. I think it is running rich? The spark plugs were pretty dark brown, but this E-85 is new to me.

More progress on my build . . . got the driver wheel well in epoxy primer . . .

Working on the Belvedere and trying to get all the bare metal in Epoxy Primer . . .

Next . . . the passenger side and then the engine compartment . . . one step at a time . . .

My transmission had been leaking very slowly over the past few weeks. Then a couple of weeks back, the front seal let go as I was backing out of the shop, puking ATF all over the place! I was referred to a trans guy locally by another Mopar fan. Had the Coronet hauled to his shop last Wednesday, and picked it up Friday afternoon. There were a couple of other problems that needed addressing, so I had him do a thorough check. He replaced all of the seals on the transmission, plus did a few adjustments. The kickdown had never really felt right on the car, as well as the 1-2 shift tended to be very quick. Guess what??? After the work, the trans works better than it has in the last 15 years, PLUS no leaks! It is true when they say you tend to not notice slight degradation in your own vehicles' performance over time...let me tell you, this car shifts and runs like Day One! So, needless to say, I've been out in the Coronet today, enjoying the new driving experience!

Took my cuda to a local show and scored 3 trophies (2- kids choice 1-sponsor) yesterday...and used her as a backdrop for family photo session today

Today I finally figured out my Master cyl leak. I've narrowed it down to the lid leaking. I've had so many problems with redoing this brake system. That I think I would have been better off if I left the 43 year old system alone. It may have pulled a little and the pedal would go to floor after stopping. I had no leaks and the car wouldn't move even though the pedal was on the floor.

Had a new exhaust system put on, the old system was pieced together and dragged on the ground at times. Then I was only planning on getting a price on tires, but the price was right and put a new set of BFG's on.

255/60r15's in back and 235/60r15's up front…

I'll get better pics later…

JUST GOT MY 3" X-PIPE TTI EXHAUST:beavisnbutthead::christmas_presents::christmas_presents: FOR MY GTX CHRISTMAS IN SEPTEMBER TTI1.jpgTTI 2.jpg

It's been rainy down South, so I took the opportunity and popped off the valve covers, cleaned them up and replaced the gaskets. And cleaned up the alternator at the same time. Not anywhere near the level of some very fine Mopars on this site but it's progress for me.
