What did you do to your Mopar today?

Well I did what I never wanted to do to my mopar yesterday:

0509121817.jpg

My passenger side wheel bearing decided all of a sudden like that it didn't want to play anymore. So instead of limping it home like you normally would it just wasn't having it. So with great sadness I had to borrow my buddies Chevy...

I fired up my 68 RR warmed it up, did the around the subdivision tour, got warned by the same CHP officer not to drive it with out registering it again {it's non-opped}, I think he likes my car, that's probably the 5th or 6th time I've been warned, he lives just up the hill from me, he knows the Game Warden, Darren that live right next door to me, I don't really know the CHP that well at all... She the B_I_T_C_H {that's my RR's name} ran Like a raped ape, I did a little 1st thru 2nd gear blast on Pheonix Lake Rd., kind of main 2 lane rd. in the area 35mph, The CHP officer gave me a thumbs up green light, then afterwards wagged his pointer/index finger at me, like to suggest it's a big No No...LOL... I just drove it back to the garage, until next time...

I put a new fuel pump on and found it works great, clean to 1 pd of pressure, called the people back and told them and now, yet again more gas to get the part replaced.

Made a body jig for a convertible. Okay, so it took a few days. :eek:s_dancing2:

Switched out the electric cut outs. The left side got damaged during a triple digit run throught the desert, or maybe a rock in the mountains of Utah, not sure. Thanks John. Confirmed today that the rev limiter still works during a Mother's Day smoldering launch after Dinner.

Watched my son put a new thermostat in my Ram today.. Need a belt tensioner next and i think im caught up with all the small gremlins thats been plaguing me. I hope!

Replaced the above mentioned wheel bearing on the Ram. To anybody doing this, just be aware that the bearing corrodes itself into the aluminum spindle housing resulting in foul language, bigger hammers and some of :icon_fU:.

Oh and remember the correct orientation of the dust shield so you don't have to take it apart a second time.....mumbles under his breath.

Went to the first big cruise of the year. I promised a better pic of the new wheels and tires. These were taken at a cruise today. I'll take the opportunity to remind everyone to be cautious around open hoods. You'll notice the Cobra next to me has the hood open. The owner's wife had her hands around the hood opening when the hood slammed shut. The hood partially latched which made it very difficult to free her hands. Not sure how badly she was injured but she was in a great deal of pain.

Went down to the shop to work on the car.Was almost done with floor repairs when the phone rang for a tow,so it was off and running to do the tow.My new carpet came in today.Custom ordered the rear section with 10 inches of extra material to cover where the rear seat used to be,and the front one untrimmed which leaves about 5 extra inches going up the firewall.I'm also replacing the door sill plates.Hope to finish the floor tomorrow and start measuring up the cuts on the new carpet.:naka:

Today my 12 years old son and I started tearing everything down to pull the engine and trans. We will be pulling everything out tomorrow and putting a rreplacment engine and trans to keep the numbers matching safe. We will cleanup the engine bay and everything that we can. I am limited on time with the picker so tomorrow is the day to get everything swapped. Pictures tomorrow or the next day. :headbang:
