Dug 40+ year old silicone out of the tail lights. (Still not done.) **** is everywhere. Must have seemed like a good idea to somebody at the time. Friggin' tedious but I don't want to melt the plastic with too much solvent.
At least everything is there and in pretty decent shape.

Wet sanded (1000 and 1500 by hand, then 3000 on an orbital) and hand polished (meguiars gold class) the 500.

I can barely lift my arms. I feel like that old joke, "I just flew in from Chicago..."

Went thru the transmission.
Cut 7/8" off the drive pinion because I am switching from the bronze pilot bushing to a roller bearing, and cause it's too long to get in and out.
New shift levers and seals/gaskets from Brewer's, top notch.
Used Passion's book (it's a little flakey) plus FSM.
I'm really happy I got it done in 1day.

Found the issue with my leaking water pump.

Something must have snagged the gasket and pushed it down.

Not sure I mentioned I'm attempting to do this without removing the AC compressor, alternator, and that big *** bracket for them.

It does require an interesting angle and simultaneous hose clamp plier application to get the bypass hose on.

I took some long shouldered bolts and cut the heads off, making alignment studs, and put the new (and much better fitting Fel-Pro) gasket on dry.

I'm letting the sealant on the long bolts set up over night.

WHO the F redesigned the heater hose connection on Magnum water pumps to use a sheet metal tube and O ring that barely makes contact. Please give me back the cast on nipple.

I'm threatening to thread that brand new pump hole and use a brass barb fitting.
it is the perfect size for 1/4 NPT IIRC, and I already found that tap at my local flea market for $2.

I also took the opportunity to paint my timing mark white.

Well worth the time.

You just never know.

I took mine for a long morning drive, first long drive of the year, about 50 miles or so, all is good, just like always.....

I will drive it.
I know you will!, I think you are that type. I know you have some exeptional rides, but at the same time plays with them as they where ment to be played with.
I respect that!

Got the wheels on the car. 6" on the fronts with 225/70R15. 8" on the rear with 275/60R15.

Also, after 2 months, the radiator came back from Glen Ray today. :bananadance:

Wow - that looks sweet RC. Thinking of replacing my BF's white letter with redlines since they would match nice with the car color. Can I ask where ya got them?

Thanks! I was originally thinking of raised white letters, but I saw a picture of a 69 Cuda with this combination and I liked it a lot, so that's what I went with.

I got the tires from Diamondback.

Taking advantage of being able to finally work in the garage with the door open and not need anything more than a t-shirt. Been about 20 years since diff service was done. The HF suction gun worked great for this job. Thanks for the reminder RC.
