@biomedtechguy : YES, remember that blue, color changes as looking at it (and candys & pearls) make the paint imo: got used Mitsu Challenger back in 84. 2.6 "jet" & 5 spd; no mods done except replace clutch, previous owner taught wife how ro drive stick so story went; QUICK LITTLE CARS, surprised a FEW Camaros & Stangs!! : Eyed up Conq/Starion when they came out: wrecked Mit/Chl in CT, got Cordoba instead of Conquest, had my son, started family. DRAGON!! NICE!! Great vid but does not give sense of fun you all had!! That is on my bucket list with car & a bike, HD RK or Fat Boy for this FAT Boy!! lol

QUICK LITTLE CARS, surprised a FEW Camaros & Stangs!! : Eyed up Conq/Starion when they came out

Although the factory electronic boost gauge worked, I got a mechanical boost gauge to be certain of an accurate reading. Added Mitsu Eclipse MAF, plug and play on the 88-89 Conquest TSi/Starion with just a mod to the plastic shell around the wiring termination. Manual boost controller, turned up that little factory 13a turbo +7# from 10.5 to 17.5# of boost. Immediately needed a high performance clutch disc and pressure plate. 3" no cat turbo back exhaust pipe to a Hooker AeroFlow muffler (best sounding 4 banger muffler on earth! No "fart can") Nitto 555R drag radials.
Look at this race against an early new model Charger R/T. Left him at the line like he missed his wake up call, barely crossed the finish line ahead of him:

That was before the Nitto drag radials. The "chirp" sounds are the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts on the 5 speed, not a blow off valve. It was "chirping" the T/A Radials.
I had a ball with that car. Had all kinds of upgraded parts waiting for installation, like a 16S turbo, and so forth. Got a 3.90 ring and pinion gear out of a Mitey Max Mitsu pickup truck, but never put it in. I wish I would have experienced that, because it was already a rocket ship in the 1/8th mile.
My 70 Roadrunner 440 6bbl is so much better, it keeps me from longing for my "lost love" for the TSi...

Yeah, I can't remember who the manufacturer of the performance clutch disc and pressure plate was, but it worked great, nothing fancy, unlike the McLeod RXT dual disc clutch setup I have in the RR.
Hydroplaning in my Conquest put me off Nitto 555R drag radials forever! IF I were to ever use them again, and I don't see any reason to, it would be strictly for the track. My Nittos were a few months old, had great tread and void depth, but I was driving to a Starion/Conquest meet around Atlanta and in Mississippi I hit a medium light rain on i10. Blacktop in good condition, and I slowed from 70 to 60 mph. Movin' along and about 10 minutes in, all of a sudden the *** end starts sliding side to side!
I lost control but fortunately went left off the highway into the grass, but not into oncoming traffic and it was a gentle grade vs a deadly drop off. If I would have gone off to the right, I may have been splattered in the trees!
I needed to remove the seat cover from my *** with pliers! It was definitely a "full clench" experience.
I'm a BIG FAN of the Toyo Proxes TQ drag radials I've had on my Roadrunner for 3 years or so. Good tread void of different designs and widths really shed the water, especially for a drag radial, but wear is not a problem and traction is at least WAY better than BFG T/A Radials.

@biomedtechguy : Wow, you went for a wild ride!! Glad no trees and all good, maybe a bruised ego (been there with Mits/Chall guardrail wipeout!!) They are some fat meats on your RR!! Couldn't use them up here in yankee teritory, to many ruts in the road from all the damn traffic!! You fellas down south DEFINATELY have better roads (was Huntsville Bama few years ago). Have fun in GA & 'SSIPPI"!!

New Corbins have no "spring" to them. I have some old ones, but of course not the size I need, that take a LOT of force to open them and they clamp nice and tight. The newer ones I have for the 5/8 hose I can darn near use my fingers to spread them and they have no force to them coming back. RTV on the spiggets, clamp forced tight and left for the night before I refill.

I sure "did a lawn job" on the grass in between the highway lanes. I was washing grass outta places I didn't know my car had. In that case, I never swung to 180° so just the rear went right, left, then right again, the last pivot being enough along with me reacting to the limited options to take to the grass rather than off the right side. I stopped pretty much parallel to the highway and was even able to drive out and back on to the highway, grass flying off my car for a mile or so down the road...My ego was 100% intact.

I had just bought the 8s and 9s x 17" aluminum Rallye wheels from Year One, so since I was switching from the factory steel Rallyes, I took a guess on what the widest drag radials were that would fit w/out rubbing...
MAN! I'll tell ya, those 315/35/17 Toyos fit like Chrysler should have offered them!! They are SO nice, it has really pushed back my thoughts of tubbing (although I still probably will one day) and going extreme on the rear width of the tires and wheels in the rear. To me, the B-Body Mopar was made for steamroller width rear tires!

Got a chance to mount the line-loc on the car today.
I mounted on the other side of the distribution valve.
I was able to tweak the passenger side brake line and make it fit.
I did have to make a new line for the drivers side as it is so short.

Finally able to find a set of these front spring bushings (2" not 1 1/2") that were in stock. Paid the extra shipping and they will be here this Friday. Ordered and paid for these twice from other suppliers and then was told "out of stock" or they will ship when made. B.S. I need them yesterday. Holding my build up!!!

Charger? MORE compounding (Meguiars 110 and 210) and polishing and waxing. It's weird - I can get it mirror-shiny, and a couple weeks later...it's all foggy and hazy again. Me no comprende. It sits in a garage, not in the weather, not in direct sunlight. Whisky. Tango. Foxtrot.

Drove my 01 Cummins to NAPA to get a cooling fan relay for my 91 Daytona. Replaced it even though I could hear the old one changing state...and now the fan works like it should. I guess the old one wouldn't quite close all the way. (shrug)

Put the bike rack in the receiver hitch on the minivan. I was going to ride the mountain bike before dark, but my tenant called about water coming through her ceiling....so that delayed that. Took the bike, on the rack, to the decommissioned Army base near my house so I could get in my daily 6 miles with no traffic (as opposed to my normal routine of riding to and from the base, as well as around the base). Almost got hit by a deer on the bicycle...but no cars.

Quiet day.

Went to Summit and got new oil, changed it and took it for a little spin.

Got the repro decorative chrome squares on the door panels. That was bugging me for over 10 years. I think Legendary should have included those pre-installed and I would have been happy to pay more at that time. Also got the new correct master cylinder installed. The wife asked why after only a couple years she's helping to bleed the system again and if there was a problem. I told her because I finally found the right mc. Her reply...."I should have known".

Finished painting the cylinder heads and water pump. Good picture of the repair that Rick at RPM Racing Engines did to the bunged up freeze plug hole on the rear of the passenger side head. Water pump is in VHT Wrinkle Black to match the oil pump and fuel pump.

Tried out the new (used) wheels and tires.
I'll have to get spacers for the rears, but I think I like the look.
Also switched out the 4.30 Shure Grip for a 4.56 spool.
Hope to be at the track next weekend!
