What did you do to your Mopar today?

You might want to check your oil pump for an internal flow restriction before you re-install it on the engine. Many OEM oil pumps have a casting mismatch that creates a little bit of an oil flow restriction. While it isn't a huge deal on a stock engine, why not take a little time and remove the restriction while you've got it on the bench. Attached are two photos, the first shows the mismatch/restriction area and the second shows the relieved/no restriction area after some minor casting work.

@Mopars & Missiles……I don’t recall seeing anything like that on mine. Concerned, I went through some additional photos. Not the greatest photo, but that area seems smooth on mine. Great info for the future & other members….thanks

Its where the oil pump mates to the block, the round oil passage on the block (suction port from the pickup tube in oil pan) is partially blocked by the pump casting (sometimes) which causes oil flow disturbances at that point and slightly less free flow into the pump. Mate the pump up to the block with the rotor removed and then take a look. :thumbsup:
