Changed the oil and filter on the Coronet. Pretty routine, but this time I used a homemade funnel for the oil filter, the idea was pilfered from a @dadsbee thread. Cut a plastic jug in half and placed it under the filter. The hollow handle makes a perfect spout. No more oil spilled on the K-member.
Valvoline VR1 10W-30 and WIX 51515 filter.

First I tried a one quart milk jug but it was too small. This is a one gallon white vinegar jug. The bottom of the jug snaps up behind the oil pump, holding it in place.

Getting my car back together.
Swapped the intake fasteners over to studs . Mainly to guide the intake straight down and ease to torque it down.

I'm on my 3rd round of tightening it so far today.

Hopefully I will have it torqued tight by end of the day.

Then will go back over them a few times once engine has had a couple heat cycles..
Probably be late next week before I get to fire it back up though.

Brought my toy home....been away for a week getting some "throat and feet" treatment.

New tyres (tires for you Colonial types) and new exhaust headers along with some re-jigging. I bought a set of Patriot hugger style headers last year, and had them coated inside & out locally, and have been waiting a long time now to get them fitted. So at last they went on, and the Hooker Super Comps are going up for sale locally in NZ. The Patriot headers take up less space, and hopefully will reduce the heat build-up inside the doghouse.

I have not noticed any loss of power (by my "seat of the pants gauge") but I have noticed a significant loss of engine noise...much quieter while driving now.
The bonus is also the entire exhaust is now stainless steel except for the repro tips off 68-70 Chargers.

New tyres are Hancook's .... 225x60x15 up front and 275x60x15 out the back. They feel nice on the road, and I only managed a small squeak off the line at a traffic light once....accidentally of course......lol

Wasnt happy with the other park lamp assy. But this one turned out nice

Did this today... first time it has run in 46 years No idea on timing and haven't touched the carb, loving the street demon though.. only have bout 1 min of run time, no water in it. Gotta fix a fuel leak before anything else.. sorry bout the sound, phone didn't like the open headers.. the howards cam sounds way more cammy than i expected..

wow... that's gonna be awesome when done... i only had to repair rust and patches but it felt soo good to be adding metal back instead of cutting... i'm sure yours is 100x better

Installed the rebuilt clutch and pressure plate.

Ram will rebuild their stuff, which saves a few bucks.

I got the bellhousing on too, hopefully the trans tomorrow.

Then I’ll work on the clutch linkage, I’m going to make a new bellcrank.
