What did you do to your Mopar today?

I went to Bob's cruise-in 20 years ago but since I live in Indiana the commute was a bit longer, good to see its still going strong.

We drove a bit over 100 miles to Port Renfrew BC. Which is on the edge of the Pacific Ocean. We can see the Olympic Peninsula WA from the camp ground.
Anyway, back to the ticking sound from the 318. If we had adjustable rocker arms or tappets, I would say they need adjusting, about 4 to 6 thou. But we do not have adjusters, so it occurred to me we need longer pushrods.

While sitting on the beach, I read the Compcam instructions.
They explained how to measure the pushrod length, and said I may need longer pushrods. Next week I will measure and find out who has longer pushrods.

What kind of real world millage did you get? Not that it matters with the Hemi, interested in what I’ll see here on the east coast.

I've been playing around with it around town. But I'll report back.

I filled up before I left last night at 68,170 miles. And I'm going to try to take it easy before the Spring Fling display tent next weekend.

No 6,000 rpm 1st gear shifts. :poke:

Found the wire causing it (70 sate) not to have fire. Felt great to hear that motor again. But it's been sitting to long apparently cause after a couple minutes the 3310 was flooding my intake with fuel. Dammit.

I took the GTX for the first test drive after installing the hydro-boost. It’s ridiculous how well the car stops, the pedal feel is going to take some getting used to. I still need to dial in the adjustable proportioning valve in an empty parking lot but I’m going to claim it as a victory.

I also emptied everything out of the garage and pressure washed the floor and changed plugs on my son’s 4.6 Ford Exploder…

We just got back from the ocean. Winding road, 13 one way bridges. Will have fuel mileage and pushrod info later this week. None of the hills can slow us down. Just a matter of how much fuel we use. 1405 Edelbrock carb is silky smooth.
So too are the gear box shifts. As for braking, we can stop, but at 6600 pounds and no air, we are a long way from powerful brakes. Being able to drop down gears helps.
All the camping stuff works, there is a small water leak in a hose joint. Fridge works, new solar panel works. 9 amps going in was the most I saw. Should get more when the sun is more overhead. Lots of folks being quite cool in their tents.
