What did you do today....other than work on your car!?

I kept all my stuff till a few houses ago. For instances, I don't need just over one hundred 9" long, 1/2" stainless steel carriage bolts anymore. I used them for decks, bent them for L bolts for concrete, I did houses. I did keep about a half dozen of those vapor proof jelly jar light fixtures with the cages...............

That VPR is pretty cool!

Lazy day today. Got up late, went for a short walk with the pitbull, had Mexican food for lunch, drove to the grocery store and turned around in the parking lot (too many people!), went home and picked up the pitbull for a countryside drive, and then took the pitbull for a short walk after we returned home.

We took my younger, wheel chair stricken brother , one of his favorite things , Oliebollen , was a TOTAL surprise !!

January 1st..... spent a few hours with younger son at my MIL's house .... mowed all her lawns, trimmed the small hedge and a hedged-out tree......vacuumed up all the dead leaves and tidied up her driveway. Nothing special....just made a promise to my late FIL that I would help look after her.
He used to mow his grass every 3-4 days..... with our weather and my work schedule....2-3 weeks between trims now. We'll get it down to a tighter window when the For Sale sign goes up again.

no pics this time....need a rest now. :)

-1C, NE wind and the lake effect snow globe is back. Real fun when the ground is mud. 60cm (2 feet) MORE is forecast from now 'till tomorrow. Just moved about 10".

I cut up a few 12-14ft red and white oak logs then my wife and younger son helped me split a trailer load yesterday. Now we have to stack it but too windy/cold to be outside today…

Again no pictures, but I was doing another job for my MIL. This time I removed her Washing Machine (yes I said that) - took it outside and stripped it down for a good thorough cleaning before transporting over to her new house at the Retirement Village not far from our house.

Top loader machine - took out the agitator and drum, scrubbed the outer plastic drum, and water blasted the inner stainless drum. All clean and sparkling again. First time ever since 1999 it had been cleaned, and it wasn't too bad really considering.

I also half filled with clean water and ran a spin/drain cycle to clear it out before moving it. She was very happy again. :)
