No it's not
we have the Pacific Ocean the Sierra's etc.
Calif. is a vast state we have all 7 wonders of the world here
only some of it is desert or scrub brush, or brown grass land that feeds the cattle,
some people actually think that's beautiful too...

I'll take that over some over populated inner-shitty any damn day
& yes we have a few of them too....
Just like most all the eastern states have too...

Give me sea shore, sandy beaches, waves breaking
the vast Sierras, huge Redwoods, Yosemite, Big Sir, Callastoga
any of the hundreds of lakes & streams reservoirs
the granite peaks going over I-80 or Hwy-50 or Hwy-108
Lake Tahoe, Clearlake, Pinecrest, American River, Tuolumne river,
Stanislaus river, Feather river & canyon, the Rubicon river/trail
even the valley with all the agriculture, open farm land/ranch lands...
The ocean bluff down south or Monterey, up north like Humbolt etc.
Even some of the high deserts have their beauty, north & south Calif.
vast wildlife, vast open country, not just ugly brown hills & scrub brush...

Like I said Calif is vast, diverse & it's different everywhere you go...

I have to challenge you a little bit on that Budnicks.
As a disclaimer let me state that NorCal is beautiful!!!

That being said, I have traveled a very large portion of California, and for the most part, from San Francisco to San Diego, from one mile in from the Pacific to the Nevada/Arizona border, California is ugly!! I am not saying that there are not exceptions, because there are, but I still stand by my claim that the MAJORITY of California is ugly and brown. If it wasn't for the aqueducts and irrigation, Los Angeles would be ugly and brown as well. As for inner cities, I admit, I don't miss that life, but Cali is also home to the largest city (LA) in the USA. If you take notice, you kind of back my claim up, ALMOST every beautiful destination that you named is in NorCal.
You are a lucky man to live where you live, as it is one of America's, and Earth's most beautiful areas. Don't forget, the East coast has some of the most beautiful and famous beaches in the world. Nothing like the Outer Banks at sunrise.
I am not trying to start an argument, I only made my point because another member criticized pictures that I posted as being photoshopped for color. I took the pictures off of a North Carolina tourism site, I didn't enhance anything. I was just sharing. Thing is, you can't photoshop/enhance ugly and brown to be anything but ugly and brown.
