What is your definition of an unmolested car?

I do have my 66 Charger. 1 repaint in 67. Its been altered. No longer unmolested.
My 65 Coronet. Original through out. Glass included. Tires changed due to age. It had annual service. Not a fancy car by any means, just a well looked after family hardtop.
I actually bought this one from the wife of the dealership owner in 1989 out of Oregon. A very well preserved car.

your the victor now.

You buy another? Thats Nice.
No that's RC's survivor.. a true survivor.. just mess'n with him.

"Unmolested car". The way it came from the factory no matter the condition. For example, before I started my restoration my Bee was molested despite being a #'s matching car. Now it's really molested...

To me. Cars restored and done properly are in every way just fine. Its nice to see these all being enjoyed . I like them all.

It's not molestation if it's consensual.
Sooooo, whatever happens between you and your car is up to you!

But please no photos/videos, and clean it very well before you bring it to Carlisle.

@charger_1968, maybe you should post up a pic of what a molested car looks like in your world. I bet it is something I wouldn't even drag home. Yours is a really decent restoration project and one I would love to rip into if I was younger. BUT, so many things have been messed with, it is far from unmolested.....

My car is so molested, I stand a chance of serving 10 to 20 years.

Original paint cars? I know there's some out there but that's a rarity. Paint jobs were never meant to last 50 years let alone 10 and even the new junk usually won't last 10 years if kept outside and sometimes it's 5 years if it's red like my 97 2500. It's been garaged since 2001 but the paint was peeling when I bought it that year. So, can paint be categorized as a maintenance item? It sure acts like it can be lol

Zero modifications, Owners manual present, service records,
Copy of original sales agreement and only mopar replacement parts dealer serviced
My 66 Belvedere was that way when I got it. To bad it's a Belvedere I with a /6 in it....but it wasn't wearing original paint but was repainted the original color at least.

Like so many terms/title's in this industry/hobby "unmolested" means different things to different people. Obviously a car which has not been changed at all in any way could be called unmolested or if you like a "survivor". However, many would agree that routine maintenance does not negate either status or title whereas others may state that so long as any change, addition or deletion can be reversed easily allows the title to carry over (i.e. addition of wheels/tires). In other words, we could all probably agree on the starting point for the term but it gets murky from there as does so many of the other titles/terms (survivor, restoration, restomod, etc).

Doesn't really matter to me, I have zero interest in an "unmolested" or even survivor car and IMO very few remain anyway.

yep, my opinion of 'unmolested'
is just regular maintenance items

IMO a survivor is a whole different deal,
100% as it came from the factory

IMO once you get into paint & replacement panels,
seats being reupholstered
let alone other aspects, other non-original parts
even if they are from MoPar or a dealership, not date coded
it's no longer "unmolested"

it's just someone "phishing" term
in the reason, this post was started,
it's a deceptive term
someone to get more for a car,
that isn't as described "unmolested" on here

The car in question here 68 Charger 383,
maybe very well be a fine car to buy & restore,
IMO it's also a tad high priced for the condition,
But;
I've also seen them listed for far more, that were worse too
but;
it's certainly not "unmolested" anymore

You're gonna fry in the electric chair for that.

J/K...I can see a lot of creature comforts in your car, and that is great.

Yeah - IMO this is a subjective handle - the cloning handle's been changed to a 'tribute' car...used now is 'pre-owned', lol. My slant is whether a car that's been altered (molested?) has been cut up or refabbed to the extent returning it to original involves major work or irreversible...customized body/carriage. Engines can be replaced, body repainted, bolt-on mechanicals removed...
