But my vehicle is so far from the original....it's about the sign-writing. What is your definition of an unmolested car?

I think "unmolested" is kinda geographical...
Hear me out on this.
Where I live there are very few original painted classics around due to snowfall. The cars at shows with original paint are tidied up to present well(there are a few western/southern cars that claim originality that show-gowers love to describe them as such).
For the most part(for me) unmolested means original drivetrain & no fancy add-ons that can't be removed.
I bought a 68 Ford Ranchero GT off my father-in-law about 15 yrs ago so he cud buy a lot down in FLA & relax before he passed away. He got the car in the late 80's when he worked at a Ford dealer living in Simi Valley CA at the time. He had the seat re-upholstered to velvet/vinyl matching the exterior color years ago, new carpet, rechromed a few parts around the tail of the bed as well as the taillight housings, put an new chrome bumper on it, and had the car re-sprayed the original color in single stage Acrylic Enamel because the sun had beaten it to death. It had no rust-ZERO...EVER. I'm sure some dings were filled but no accident repair either... The dash was warped but not cracked. It had its original 390, auto trans & rear end. It never had anything but replacement/service parts. No chrome under the hood, all factory. No go-fast goodies but did have an igniter 2 ignition to replace the points installed(I had to replace the entire distributor after I owned it cuz the shaft had so much slop the vac adv wud stick & it'd overheat)
It was a VERY nice car. Showed well (although didn't draw gobs of interest), and drove like new... You could tell within 3 minutes of looking the car over it was not owned by a hot-rodder type & was well cared for. It had 68,000 miles on it when I got it...
I know it's not a car anywhere near the realm of this group, but I always considered it unmolested...

When I got my 66 Satellite it was totally unmolested down to never even been waxed. Looking like never even washed except by the dealer, but that was 1969.
When I got my 67 Satellite in remembrance of the 66 I had as a kid, it had been passed around, used and abused more times than a drunk cheerleader at a frat party. But it was closer to what I had always wanted my first car the 66 to be. And like previous owners I’ve done my share of day 2’s on her myself. But it’s what I want the car to be and if I could have the 66 back the way it was in 69 I would pass. It had a 361, bad paint, etc. Just my thoughts.

Ummmmm.......one that has had nothing done to change it since it rolled off the assembly line. No new panels, nothing major replaced, only routine maintenance using factory correct replacement parts.

What many describe here as unmolested I'd call more like "untouched". Unmolested to me is a complete car where everything that's ever been replaced or repaired has been with correct factory part number stuff and done properly. Also, never more taken apart than required for the repair. Someone recovering a blown out seat shouldn't kill "unmolested".
Wrong part number carb? Molested.
Water pump replaced in 1983, unmolested.
Replaced fender because someone hit it, unmolested.
Full paint job with removal of all chrome, trim, interior etc, molested.
1974 re-spray with tape on the chrome bits, unmolested.

IMHO, a lot of answers here are making "survivor" and "unmolested" about the same. I feel differently.
"Survivor" is the harder and better term for a car to have. RC's car is a survivor. It is a car with almost all original paint, it has original parts, still drives and presents well, etc. It is a car that over time, has never had major issues or changes, and still presents and works well. They are truly rare cars indeed.
To me, an "unmolested" car is below survivor. A molested car is one that, as it sits right now, has poorly done or goofy add ons. But I also believe that a "molested" car can become "unmolested". My buddy's GTX had someone badly cut out and add rear wheel fender flares (with lots of Bondo). That's molested. But if you carefully and properly replace the quarter panels, then it's unmolested.
I also believe that common "day two" additions does not make a car "molested". A nice set of headers, maybe different wheels, etc. are OK by me.
Though this may be controversial, most of us have seen the 68 Bullit Charger built by @keepat . How many would walk by that car and say it was "molested"? Certainly not me. That car is beautifully engineered and built. Since it does not have poorly done or goofy add ons, it is unmolested. It is not original either, but being non-original does not equal molested.

Many times meanings can be taken very differently by so many people. I my self
would say unmolested still has all original parts in tach. Could have a repaint over original
panels. A car that performs well and could have some minor flaws. But, just my .02

I have fondled and inappropriately touched ever car I have ever owned! I had my way with them repeatedly, none of mine were unmolested!
