! sorry if this is the wrong forum. I have been kicking around the idea of buying a car trailer to haul around and winter store my 68 gtx.im gonna pull it with my 13 ram half ton .so I wanna keep it as short as possible , car measures 17 feet , I want a 20 foot , but think I may have a problem getting to the front to tie it down. Any ideas? They make a 22 foot but they aren't very common around here .also there is the weight issue.a lot of cheaper trailers have 2 , 3500 lbs axles , so 7000gvw , and at 3300 lbs plus the car which I'm guessing is 4000lbs the trailer will be overweight .so the next size would be 5200 lb axles which the. Again puts you at the next price range ... Thanks in advance for your options and info

You could get by with a 16 foot trailer. The *** end will hang over, but that has never been a problem, as long as the ramps are not the swing up type.
(And I have towed a bunch of b bodys over the years)

You're talking about an enclosed trailer, right? Mine is 24' and is barely long enough for a car and any extras. You will be totally cramped with a 20 or a 22 imo but a 22 is minimum.....

Don't know but my Charger is about 17' long.

In 2009 i was looking for a enclosed trailer and didn't want to spend a bunch so went shopping around for a good used. Everybody wanted a fortune for a good used enclosed trailer so i started looking at new. They were pricey and the steel frame trailers were fairly heavy so i bit the bullit and bought a all aluminum 28ft 6" (Frame and all) interior is 25' 4" and has a tapered front, electric brakes and only 2900 lbs empty. GVWR 10,400. Paid a fair dollar but worth every penny. Keep my Roadrunner stored in it and with a winch installed its easy to get vehicles in and out.
Had it 6 years now and don't regret spending the money for the right tool.

Just started a Lil Red project and having an enclosed with a winch makes life easy when you can winch it in and out by yourself.

A minimum length of 24' for sure! better to have more room than not enough!!

Just remember if you get an enclosed trailer that will be more weight for the Dodge to pull. You said it was a 1/2 ton right? Does it have the hemi engine? If so you should be alright. Is the area pretty flat? I couldn't get away with that down here in the mountains of South Eastern Kentucky.

Minimum of 24' and 5,200# axles for an enclosed trailer or you will regret the purchase.

I have a 20' enclosed with my 66 and with the workbench up front it's tight. I agree on a 24'. That will be my next trailer.

Definitely 24 ft. You will fill the space. I got a GREAT deal on this 08 Model

Get one big enough, mines a 34 footer and I WAS able to haul one of these around for a short time. It stunk like **** after it got out.

I'm looking to purchase a trailer for my 1969 Satellite. Thanks to those above posters for the input, etc.

trailers are like basements, closets, and garages......never as big as you'll like/need.

Seems you run out of room way too fast, a 24ft min if it's an enclosed trailer IMO
gives you more options & it's a very common size too

A tag along/flat tow style, I assume is what your referring to also,
not a fifth wheel or gooseneck

dual or triple axle if your worried about weight

get trailer brakes too, it's worth the extra $$$ spent

IMO longer the better to an extent, as long as the tow rig can handle it,
have a place to store it too, I'd suggest get the biggest for your budget/needs...
