What was the first cool MOPAR you ever rode in and how old were you?

Probably the first ride and boy it WAS! My oldest brother got his hands on a 59 I think Dodge Coronet with that straight across style speedometer. It had a bar that went across and as your speed increased it changed color from green..to yellow and to red. Well I was probably 9 and we lived in a farming community north of Nashville. My brother could make a car do things on a dirt/gravel road like some moonshiner running from the law. That bar stayed red most of ANY ride we went on. I just knew I wouldnt live long lol. That guy could drive like a madman.

The next, second oldest had a Lark viii with a 392 hemi in it!!!!! so riding behind some Mopar was a badzzz ride. He took out 396 Chevelles, Corvettes and Camaros like they were nothing. That thing would scream! I was 11. Then he buys a 69 Charger 383 car....absolutely beautiful. I may have been 12 by that time.

Well, as long as it's the first cool one.

The first cool one I actually drove (well, stole is more like it) to race was a '71 Hemi Charger 4speed when I was 16. Okay, it didn't have the Hemi but had a swapped 440 with a Direct Connection hemi grind cam and valve springs and Borg & Beck clutch set. Just because I couldn't keep my mouth shut. In school I challenged the "big man on campus" with his 1977 Corvette with a swapped1969 in 396 4speed combo and I actually beat him by a car length.

Boy, did that car pull. And when it passed 80mph the nose would lower/settle. Was very impressed and still is. Didn't regret the absent Hemi one bit.....

I stole my mom's 74 Grabber Green Mustang out of the driveway and drove it round for awhile and then carefully parked it back in the same spot. My older brother ratted me out. I was 16.

My first cool Mopar was my brother's 50 Dodge 4 door LowRider that was nosed and decked, sunken antenas, split exhaust manifold and lake pipes, no door handles, and it had electric openers, painted black and pin striped. That was in 1956 and I was 5 years old. I guess you could say that we have been doing Mopars for a while.

I was 14 or 15 hitchhiking home from girlfriends house when a man picked me up in a new 64 fury ht 383 4 speed. he said it was a father / son car . I was obsessed with that tall hurst shifter as it was a bench seat car . I envied his son !! ps : my first kiss was in my uncles 57 plymouth wagon with next door neighbors daughter ... think I was 8 or 9 !!!! my first car was a 57 belvedere with a desoto 341 ci hemi !!!! I have quite a mopar history ....

My best friend's 69 Hemi Super Bee. 3 spd A/T, 4.88 gears. Black on black. The Hemi had a big aftermarket cam and headers. That car screamed! He paid $4,000 for it back in 1977. We were 16 and it was his first car.

As far as I can remember, my first cool Mopar ride was in our across the street neighbors' brand new Charger. As I remember, it was red with white interior. I think it was a '68 or '69, so I was 5 or 6 years old. I do remember riding in the back seat - probably on several occasions since I was close with the boys of that family. It may have been a 318 car.

I need to update this after spending some time with my mother today (who turned 91 this past week). She was telling me a story of a mishap with the family car in the late '50s or early '60s when she mentioned that it was a Plymouth with big fins. After talking to my older brother, I now think my first ride in a Mopar was coming home from the hospital in the finned Plymouth! This is way cool for me, and ties in with my attachment to Mopars - Plymouths in particular. My dad wasn't a car guy, so I guess that's why I didn't know of all of the cars he had over the years - although now I do vaguely remember hearing about a Plymouth in our family previously. I'm going to see if my Mom has any pics of the car. There's a chance she does since my brother said they took it on a trip from the east coast to California when they had it.

My Dad had a push button shift car sitting in the side yard during the 60's that I used to sit in and make racin noises while stabbing at those buttons. Dreamed a bunch of Mopar dreams in that bad boy.

I was 18 and bought a B5 Blue 69 Dart Swinger 340 automatic, swapped out the 3:23's put in a set of 3:91's went to a manual shift automatic,a little engine work a good set of headers and man did I have fun beating those big blocks. That's why I just sold my mint 68 Coronet R/T as I found a 68 Dart that is just absolutely beautiful and can't wait to get my hands on it. Let the good times roll again !

My first ride in a cool mopar was in a blue 65 or 66 Barracuda own my some friends of my parents. It was blue and I loved that huge piece of glass in the back. They would lay the back seat down and throw me and my brother in the back along with their two girls (we were all about 4 and 5 years old) and drive around the lake looking up at the stars. That was 1974/5. I have ridden in one since, but one day I hope to own one. I also remember on one of those trips to lake I stepped on some glass in my bare feet . . . that wasn't so cool.

First for me was my dads new 1971 E38 R/T Valiant Charger, Aussie street car that was made to race, I remember having my fingers slammed in the door one time but still love them.

I was six when my Dad bought his Brand New showroom Fresh 1970 Vitamin C 383 Roadrunner, with white Bucket Seats and Hood Pins, I remember him racing a Chevelle on the interstate and doing Burn Outs up a steep hill to the top of a Dam. Im 50 now and just bought my first 1969 T7 Bronze 383 Roadrunner to make memories with my grandkids, they will have to wear seat belts unlike my early years.

Here it is. I wish I knew what engine was in it. These pics are from a trip my family took to California about a year and a half before I was born.

Edit: After zooming in more and comparing to pics on the net, I'm 99% sure it's a '59 Savoy. The trim is Savoy, and the letters on the quarter look exactly like clearer Savoy pics I've seen.

MAX WEDGE LIGHTWEIGHT ALUMINUM FRONT END CAR.

52 Years Later I got another Mopar...that I am racing TODAY.

The first "cool" Mopar I remember was a 55 or 56 Chrysler Imperial driven by my great aunt. Her husband was a Chrysler executive. I was maybe 7 or 8 years old, I remember the car being gigantic, the dashboard was covered with chrome and it had air conditioning - I had never seen a car with air conditioning.

The first cool Mopar from my driving years was, guess what, a 67 GTX 4-speed. A guy that I worked with bought it, took three of us car nuts for a ride. It was the first time I ever travelled over 100 mph and I was hooked!
