What was the first cool MOPAR you ever rode in and how old were you?

I remember driving in a car seat in my dads 70 340 lime green swinger when I was about 2 maybe..I guess I real good memory would be driving in a 73 340 duster that was converted to a drag racer I was probably about 7 and I was in the back seat getting thrown around and just smelling the high octane gas

That is so cool that you got your son hooked. lol....on mopars I mean.

My two favorites are my dads long time friend which has been a family friend for so long I just call him my uncle when folks askme, that would be the famous MEEP MEEP, or ALEX who had his white 383 runner. He used to take us for blasts up and down taylor road. It was awesome especially when you are a young kid.

Then there is my dead uncle dick that used to take me for a blast in his 383 68 cuda with a small nitrous kit on it up ygnacio valley rd.

those days will never come back.

My parents 1957 Plymouth. It ended up mine and then at my age I trashed it and it was towed away to a junk yard. As I aged (some) I bought a new 1968 Roadrunner 383 4 speed (2600 off the lot new) had that for quite a while and survived the gas embargo. I eventually sold it as family came first but, now I own a 68 roadrunner drag car. Having fun with that. Pics in profile.

My Dad was a car designer at Chrysler. I was 10 in 1964 when he got on the executive lease program. His first choice? 1964 Chrysler 300K 4 speed, 413 4brl. Followed in later years by 65 Barracuda Formula S, 67 Chrysler 300 440TNT, 68 Charger 383 Magnum, 70 Hemi Challenger R/T S.E., 78 Lil Red Express. I took my road test for my drivers license in the Challenger. My first car? A 68 Road runner with a transplanted 440 6 pak 4 speed.

good ol' Concord boys/men

When I was 16, the test drive when I went to buy my first Mopar. a '70 6 brl 4 speed Road Runner. My Dad drove the car first and spun the tires all the way into third gear. The sound of that car roaring through the headers and Cherry bombs still rings in my head 36 years later.

When I was 7 my much older cousin had a 72 Cuda with a 426 wedge transplanted in, pearl white, black interior, centerlines, and fat tires.

My Dad was a clay modeler for Plymouth so we always has mopars around. 67 van, 73 van, 68 monaco , 73 charger, 76 colt. Thou my Dad would'nt do anything wild while I was in the car. One day, one of his buddies stopped by with a Superbird (for sale) $1800.00. I was about 6 or 7, I didn't get to ride in it but I was mesmerized by that car, looked like 200 mph standing still. That car started me on Mopars, we had lots of cool iron on our street in Detroit. Camaros, Torinos, T/As, Ford's engine test cells were a few miles from the house every once in a while one would detonate, and rock our house. There was always something cool running down Mich Ave. Teenage years, I got to ride in a 68 RR 440 car, the fever had taken hold. Stupid speed rates and and shitties, with plenty of pucker factor

I was told that I was brought home from the hospital when I was born in a 1959 Desoto Firesweep 2 door Hard Top. It was one of the cars my Dad owned at the time. It had a 361 V-8 2 barrel with a push button transmission. We kept it until it finally rusted away and it was scrapped in 1972 when I was 8 years old. It was "Flamingo Pink" with a white top. I can remember getting in the car and pretending to be driving it when I was a little kid. It was a cool car with big fins !!!!!

My Uncle who lived in PA, had a red 71 Road Runner that he bought brand new. It was a 440 Six -barrel air grabber car, black interior with a pistol grip, buckets and console.

That summer when he bought it he gave me a ride in it. I will never forget it either. I can still hear the carbs opening up and tires frying as he shifted it through the gears.

His car was the "one" that gave me the Mopar muscle car bug. It's been in my DNA ever since. Needles to say, when I finally got the opportunity to get a car similar to his, I jumped on it.

Mines really boring, I grew up being toted around in full size Dodge vans, K-cars and Chrysler Fifth Avenues.... YIPPIE! However, I learned that you can drive a 318 powered van all over this great nation without so much as a hiccup. Our trip took us all the way across the northern states to Washington and then down to Cali and then back home threw the Southern states. It wasn't until much later that I got to experience a big block Mopar (my cousins 67 Polara), what a boat but boy did it run.

Hey it's all good as long as it's MOPAR.

The end result is what counts.

My first mopar ride was my grandpas 68 New Yorker with a 440, but the fastest I ever went was in a 68 charger that one of my brothers friend had when I was in high school, 150 mph with a little more gas pedal to go!! I was truly hooked on mopars after that .

My grandmother always had Mopar (darts with slant 6's) and I was in those as far back as I can remember, 4-5 years old. However, didn't think that they were all that cool at the time..I soon changed my mind. But after buying a 69 blown up hemi charger at 14 and never getting to drive/ride in it....I bought a 1951 Dodge Wayfarer business coupe. $150 bucks. This was my first driving experience...Got it running drove it a couple times. Needed tons of work. However, was able to fit 17 cases of beer in the trunk, it was huge! That was cool! Lol. Then sold that for a 73 charger SE that I had all through High Scool and college. A friend had a 71 Challenger. We had fun with those two mopars!
