What's the best supplier for repro Magnum 500s?

I want to put some new, and wider, 15" Magnum 500s on the rear of my car, and keep the 14 x 5.5s on front. But I have read on here that some people have had bad luck with new repro wheels starting to rust or corrode quickly. My old original 14s from the 1960s seem to have pretty good chrome, and have lasted quite well. I see new wheels advertised by several vendors. Is there any difference between them, or are they all made by the same manufacturer? Any recommendations and experiences will be appreciated.

I purchased mine at a local classic Mustang shop (Sacramento) 3+ years ago and have had no issues. With that being said, my car never sees rain and is parked indoors ... I'm sure that goes a long way towards preservation!

Put the same wheels on my 67 GTX. Think I got them from Summit Racing. Not a lot of room back there if you have to change one.

You're right about not a lot of room. Have to let air out of drivers side rear tire to get it off and only have 225's.

Interesting - I have 235/60/15s all around on my '69 Sport Satellite - I'm bleeding the brakes soon so I'll send an update. Looks like it won't be an issue though - but, I've been wrong many times before, ha ha.

Yeah, the 66 and 67s are really tight. I have had 69 and 70 model B bodys, and the wide wheels are not an issue. I am thinking 15x7 on my 67 Coronet R/T. But am also wanting to do the wheels on my 64 Fury. Wondering if 15x8 rears will work on that...

Are you using the 15x7 with 4.25 backspacing, or the 15x8s? And I assume 70 series tires...

I'm looking for 15" wheels to upgrade my 14" Magnum 500's too. I was looking at American Racing VN500 and 501. The 500 is a 2 piece design and looks better I reckon with more detail to the rim. The 501 is mono cast (1 piece) and weighs about 22 lbs less per wheel. I love the idea of the weight saving but I'm not sold on the looks.

Have 15x 8s on my 66 Satty.
Right side is a little tight getting on and off.

15x8s should be no problem on a 64 fury, IF you have the right backspace. 4 1/2" b.s. seems to be the golden choice. Do your own measurements.

Lighter, about 1/3 the price of the two piece, with the proper backspace for a stock fitment, the one piece are a no-brainer!
