Looking at Mancini Racing fuel pumps and saw five to ten Carter mechanical fuel pumps and would just like to know the difference between them, besides the price.

I need a new one for my 440 HP. Recommendations are welcome.

Thanks FBBO.

some are high perf and some are stock replacement.the ones that look like they bolt together are more performance and higher gallons per hour the ones with the two "legs" sticking down are stock type replacement.all gonna depend on your motor and fuel needs.

Check what the max PSI input is for your carb and don't exceed it with the spec. from the fuel pump. Example... if your carb max psi is 6 and the fuel pump puts out 8 psi there is a risk of the fuel pump pushing fuel past your needle and seat and you will have driveability issues and probably will need to install a fuel pressure regulator. Like 67 Coronet posted the GPH will depend on how much your 440 is built.

I bought a 6 BBL part number one at rockauto for around $40 bucks .. it's rated at 6 PSI if I recall

I hear ya tallhair. If I can get by saving a few bucks here and there I'm all in. Unless I was racing or running some stroked out big block I would go the same route as you.

I had a Carter 6903 that took a dump within 10 hr on a new motor. I went to a stock replacement Airtex for $30 bucks and have had no problems.
