What's up with fastfood prices?

If I was at O'Hare I would have to have a Chicago Hot Dog. View attachment 1387435
Oh Hell Yes!!! Chicago Dogs are the BOMB!!! Luckily here in Reno we have an actual Chi-town Hot Dog restaurant that is owned and operated by a Chi-town native. They serve the complete deal on all the Chicago delicacies. He even has Old Style beer that he has muled in every week!!! The other great meal is the Chicago Beef sandwich. Man I gotta order some fixin's for those treats...cr8crshr/Bill:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::usflag::usflag::usflag:

I get Burger King coupons and every couple weeks will take break from my boring daily work from home lunch routine of a can of soup and crackers and cheese, or microwaved leftovers or whatever and drive 1/2 mile to BK for one of their char grilled horse meat burgers as they were cheap with the coupon. Earlier this year the coupon price for a whopper, small fries and a drink was $4.99. It’s 6.99 now.
2 whopper jrs and 2 small fries was 3.99, then 4.49, then 4.99, latest coupon sheet is $5.49. All this increase in a year!
Theres a family owned carry out a quick walk from my house, a classic Chicago Hot dog and fries no drink with tax is $6.65 now.
2 Chicken tacos is about the same. I go there about once a week. I’d sort of like to pull the plug on that habit, but I like supporting a small family business run by a hardworking family who toil away there 6 long days a week.
I got a new BK coupon sheet in the paper yesterday, the 2 whopper jr coupon is 5.99 now!
It was 3.99 with the coupon as recently as last spring, maybe even early summer. 50% increase in under a year!
I would take advantage of that deal because it was cheap and easy, I won’t pay $5.99 for it, and won’t miss the food much!

$20 (Canadian) will still get you a few pieces of KFC. Screen shot from today's website.

I used to like BK...but they have become so MASSIVELY anti-2A and anti-LEO, I won't set foot in one anymore.

I’ve really enjoyed this thread. You guys have made me laugh out loud a few times.

rode many miles in wisconsin beautiful state. personally i would eat a big mac with a autistic archie bunker wisconsin dude any day over doing anything with your california He shes.
I don’t disagree with you pal - And your post level shows you’re not around much so I want to be clear because you don’t know me. Actually I‘m from Minnesota and we revel in our friendly rivalry with the neighbor to the east. I’m not even close to being from this God forsaken state I find myself living. It was only work that brought me here with few options at the time. You may think you have distain for CA - you have no idea how much I have for it. You could never match mine. And yes WI is a beautiful state with very friendly, good people.

Wisconsin is where Culvers began. I went there for lunch today and had a cod sandwich value basket with cheese curds. Yum!
With a coupon for a free cheese curd upgrade it was a bit under $11.

When we discovered Culver's in the early '90s, we'd go out of our way to stop at one when traveling. They were great. You couldn't find a dirty table in one. There was always someone walking around with a rag and spray bottle cleaning everything. They offered exceptionally good fast food and service for a little more cost but way worth it. But, as always happens, as they got bigger, their grip on QC loosened. Now they're pretty much like every other fast food place. Orders are wrong, the restaurants are dirty, and the prices are outrageous for what you get. The days of them being worth the extra cost are behind them. The Mrs and I usually can't get out of one for under $30. anymore for just the two of us. And that's not getting anything special. We used to look for one, now we usually just look away and go somewhere else. I will say that we ate in the Waupaca Culver's in October and it was like a trip to the past. Excellent service and clean. But still overpriced.
In fairness to Culver's, it's somewhat a sign of the times, but not completely. The Chick Fil A in Appleton, WI is a marvel of efficiency and service - proving that it isn't impossible to still provide a good experience, even now. 20 minutes down the road in Oshkosh, and there's a big difference at that Chick Fil A.
We think twice before going out to eat anywhere anymore. So many disappointments and feeling like you've gotten ripped off. We'd rather cook for ourselves at home with the expensive groceries we buy. At least that way, we know and control what we're getting.
One last word to you WI guys. If you're looking for good Mexican food - great service and atmosphere - we found it at Old Mexico Cantina and Grill in Sturgeon Bay 2 weeks ago. There are still a few gems out there.
