What's your favorite handgun?

I no longer own firearms but when I did:

Favorite to own: Desert Eagle, stainless, 44 mag, iron sights
Favorite to carry: Sig P365XL, Holosun red dot
Favorite to shoot: Centerfire: Bushmaster AR15, Bushnell 3x9, Bushnell red dot co-witness w/iron sights
Rimfire: Tie: Ruger 10-22 bull barrel, Nikon 3x9, bipod
HK 416-D, Vortex 3x9
Pistol: Springfield XD-9 Mod 2, iron sights

A lot of good choices put up so far. I’ve got a .22,.357 and a 9mm. But, I still defer to John Moses Browning (the master); 2 1911 models both in 5” barrels.
Only 7 rds in magazine (?) carry a couple mags with ya.

I really like my Sig P210 I bought a few years ago, it's a work of art and one of the most accurate 9mms ever made.
I've been a big Colt 1911 fan forever. My dad helped me buy a super early one made in 1912 when I was in college. It turned out it wasn't a great shooter though, loose as a goose, and the second time I took it to a range the extractor broke. He was a collector and some years later started bugging me that he wanted it. I finally relented and told him if he'd get me a newer target grade 1911 as a partial trade along with some cash, I'd go for that. He had a partial restoration done on it a few years before he passed away. And I inherited it back from his estate then. That original extractor that broke in 1982 had a brilliant blue finish, we repaired the gun with a surplus extractor from a later 1911, that has a parkerized finish. After my dad had it partially restored, I noticed that parkerized extractor is still installed in it. I have on my to-do list getting an extractor refinished with the correct blue surface to finish that job my dad did on it some years back.
I also ended up with a few other guns from his collection, most of the rest of which were sold at auction. The coolest one I ended up with was his 1893 Borschart, in its original case with all the accessories. We talk about drivers versus show cars in another thread, in the collector gun world that gun is one heck of a cool trailer queen. In the gun collecting world its equivalent to a concours hemi Charger.
For cheap plinking, I have a trusty bull barrel Ruger Mark II my late father gave me for Christmas around 40 years ago.
As you might gather, my interest in guns ties in with memories of my late father. I grew up going to guns shows with him. He specialized in early semi auto pistols. I was actually more enthralled with rifles.

really, **** much? call it the ex-military in me, and as far as the anti-idiots...who cares!
Regardless you still need to call it by the correct nomenclature!!! MAGAZINE!!! This also comes from a former Military Veteran/Retiree so at least I know the difference!!!

Now as for your XD 9, I have the XD 45 and I also like it very much. In addition, I have a couple of 1911s and those are my favorites out of all mine. Other than that, I prefer not to broadcast what I have and don't have so the rest will remain incognito!!! cr8crshr/Bill:usflag::usflag::usflag:

My favorite is the CZ 97B in .45 ACP. More capacity than the 1911 and double action.

Guys: This thread is in General Discussion

No political junk posts or the whole thread goes to News & Politics or Trashed altogether.

The FABO membership has set the bar high in the General Discussion thread "Guns, Dogs and Blades QnA" with more than 3,500 posts over almost two years.

FBBO gun-related threads started in General Discussion are either D.O.A. or go political shortly thereafter.

Grips can make a world of difference in how much you like your handgun.

not enough rounds for a good gunfight ..

If you need more than 7+1 you need more time at the range

My son bought a Glock 17.
existing:
Browning Hi Power
Browning Buckmark
Ruger Mark 4
Colt 1917 Army 45 revolver
Sig something. 9mm
Walther 38 military
Taurus 40. I forget the mod.
Ruger 380 compact
High Point 45 I know it's clunky but my daughter can shoot it without hurting her hand.
And it's guaranteed for life.
That's all I can think of.
That's a bunch of different calibers to keep on hand.

...STI 2011..untill you try a premium firearm you will never know how good you are...however the $$$ on the Staccato line is enough to make you faint..but WOW ..what a line up

My favorite hand gun is a loaded one :)

In a shootout a revolver has less chance of jamming compared to a semi auto. Doesn't hold as many and reloading takes longer. So did he shoot five or six?

I agree!!! I have 45 ACP, 45 Long Colt, 38 SP, 22 Short, Rifle, Long Rifle, and 22 WNM, 308/762, and 223/556, 6.5 Arisaka JP, and shotgun ammo from 12 20 16 - 410 gauge. That's about it!!! cr8crshr/Bill:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::usflag::usflag::usflag:

It's an awful shame I lost all my firearms in that horrific boating accident crossing Lake Champlain years ago.
But I truly enjoyed my Walther PPK/S. One of the most reliable concealment weapons I've owned.
And no, my name isn't Bond.
