Beautiful car!
Beautiful car!
Alternator through bolt sheared off in head. We tried various ways to remove it with no luck. So I decided to swap heads side for side to get a fresh bolt hole. The engine was built 08/89, so am taking this opportunity to clean things up and repaint. Mechanically everything looks fine. Surprisingly little carbon build-up on heads or pistons. Engine had thin shim head gaskets, so I am going to use Felpro .040" PermaTorque. I am going to try a different electronic distributor in it, because it feels like the timing is " floating" around when cruising with the dizzy that was in it. First time it had been apart since built almost 70,000 miles ago, so I guess it was due. Glad it was nothing serious. This happened just before Moparfest, so I rode up in my buddy's red '62 Dart Max Wedge clone. This was the farthest he had been away from home with it since he bought it last fall and it behaved itself well. I see you took some Charger pictures. After hitting the swap meet and seeing the exhibit in the arena, I was too hot and tired to get my camera out and take pictures. There were a lot of early B-bodies there that I had not seen before. It looked like a lot of Car for Sale signs on the show field, though. Thanks for asking.Problems or upgrades Dave?
I plan on being there. Some of our WOMO gang will be going. We have been there before and enjoyed the show. We usually finish the day off by going to Dover for supper. Car show on Sunday at Yarek Dodge in Paris, but I won't be there. That explains why I didn't remember seeing the R/T there, but then again I'm not sure I did the entire show field, just bits and pieces. I had mine down to the block, and you can do a nice job of detailing when it is that far down. There is a car show in Cayuga Thanksgiving weekend. Do you think you would be ready?
very nice line up thanksWent to our club’s annual all mopar Labour Day show.

I work with an 83 year old man, today is his retirement party. 44 years with Elliot Electrical Supply. He’s a mopar guy, so I decided to stay up late, get the car running and cleaned up. The big smile on his face when I pulled up was great.

Thanks, that’s what these cars are suppose to be. Trophies collecting dust, or being broken in a box aren’t important. The joy you get after you bust your *** late at night on your car, and seeing the joy on someone else’s face is worth way more. I feel sorry for anyone that’s never experienced that joy. These cars are suppose to be more than numbers, more then just some metal, more then economic trading cards.Good Job Cheap
