Out for the final shakedown before tomorrow's road trip to Carlisle. I can't pass an old barn without a pic or two, might not be there next time through.....

I took the road 'less travelled' to the coast today.
Wife was along for her first trip since engine transplant.
I drove sedately the first 100 miles as I am still figuring out my range. She thought the car was quieter & smelled "different".
After filling up & closer to home it was a more spirited romp. The first time I floored it & it kicked down a gear I heard either "WHOA!-WHOA!WHOA!" or "NO!-NO!-NO!"
It was kind of hard to hear her

Another time she remarked that "You probably left 'peel-out' marks"
So now she knows what the new car smell is, and how loud it can be.
She definitely approves of the change

In Bodega.
Via 'The Winding Road'.
What a pleasant Day.
What a nice drive.

Met in Napa
& fueled up.
Drove through Sonoma & landed at the Russian River Brewing Co. for a bit to eat.
Parked in the far corner away from everyone in a huge parking lot with many empty spaces all over.
This was probably the vehicle that brought 5-6 young children in to sit by us...
Drove to Occidental & headed up the hill.
Towards the top Dennis took the lead.
Looked like this to the east, the west/coast was still fogged in.
Had a rest stop by ancient cyprus/cedar? trees about 6' diameter.
& down to hiway 1, south we went.
Through Bodega Bay
and back to Napa without incident but plenty of slow going traffic now & then...
It was a wonderful outing!
Dennis may chime in/add pics to fill in the gaps so I won't post it all...
Edit: Well I see he did up there above this.
Yes, the 914 got 'frisky' so we both gave him an earful of MOPAR muscle!

I picked them all a LONG time ago!! All have held up well ... LOL. I've been with my honey for 40 years, married for 37 come next week.

Today we went & picked up my dad for his first drive since engine transplant. It was cool this morning, car was running great & his eyes bugged out. Several times...
I knew I had done the right thing when he told me: "You know, I never named this car. I don't know why I never did but I just did today".
When I asked what it was he said "The Beast!"
He took it through several accelleration tests and was VERY pleased with the performance

I wasn't in my Charger, but I went over to a customer's house today to give their elevator a check up on Lake Winnipesaukee...
Came back to my place and picked a few blueberries...
Now I'm just kicking back and enjoying the tranquility, breeze and shade.

Went down to get some ice cream. Looked like threatening weather when we left the house. Got rained on...a lot. Drove home with wipers on high and heavy rain with small hail mixed in it lol.
