Just have to vent. Installing upper control arm on 72 Coronet and noticed the ball joint was loose. Went to tighten. Just spins the stud doesn't turn. Just the nut end won't tighten Got it from Manicini racing with the ball joints already installed. Had 3 new windows put in my house last month. The screens are separating away from the frames. I bought my son a T.V. 2 Christmases a go It quit working the other day. My old T.V. are still going.

I'm with ya brother!

I could not agree more. I try to buy quality products even at higher prices but it seems it is getting harder and harder to truly get quality and service even at higher prices. I know you can't lump all products and companies together and making a profit is hard but it just seems worse today. Maybe it's because I am getting old.

I think the problem with someone building a quality product that lasts a long time and then charging the corresponding price is, not enough people will buy it.
and yeah we're getting old.

Chinesium. I have a funny story... A friend of mine has a 4 yr old son. After Halloween he was eating some of his candy. He unwrapped a piece of laffy taffy and accidently dropped it on the table. When it hit the table it broke into about 7 or 8 pieces. He was in a huff when his 14 yr old sister came into the room and asked what flavor it was because she would eat it if it was her favorite. (Strawberry) Any way, without skipping a beat the 4 yr old said to his sister...Its China flavored.

You're not the only one fed up with this trend. I just put a "new" 96 van on the road with 175k on it. Rust free, good shape, boat anchor 351, lower taxes and insurance, and I can fix it.

I'm just tired of the new crap out there.

Seems like more and more things are being made cheaper/disposable nowadays. The younger generations don't know what it is like to buy quality made products that last or that are repairable. Just throw it away and buy a new one. Maybe that is the way our Government figures to get the economy growing. But the only problem with that thinking is that everything is made overseas.

Quality has been superseded with "Make it cheaper" and "Make it disposable"

Disturbing how many NAPA parts say "Made in China."
Forget NAPA, it is really alarming how many resto parts are made in CHINA and sold at a premium. Bunch of BS if you ask me, but I usually loose those aguments. Someone always tells me how the price to get them made in the USA is too high, blah, blah, blah..... I find it hard to belive that a company like AMD (one of the worst outsourced resto companies ever) could not make their parts here, especially as they seen to sell a decent volume and they charge a premium price. I kmow there must be a lack of workers and real estate in say....Detroit???

Sorry for the rant, I just hate the Chinese crap, I hate it more on a muscle car.

Totally agree with you Mark. Part of the responsibility lies with the consumer. It's unbelievable how many people buy the cheapest crap that they can find and then wonder why the stuff they get breaks, fails, or doesn't work to begin with. Consequently it's getting harder and harder to find quality products and services.

I'm with you guys on the Chinese crap. I try to go out of my way to buy quality American made products if I can; but the sad true is some of the products that we use everyday just are not made in the USA anyone. Thanks to the bean counters and corporate executives moving the jobs out of here just to earn an extra dollar and look good to the stock holders.

I'm proud that I work in an American manufacturing plant and we produce the highest quality product in our field.

What is it so I can try to support it as I will pay more for good products

I could have bought a newer car than my 66 for my winter car.
I could have bought a nice 10 year old cavalier or acclaim or mini van.
I didn't, I found a beat up old Plymouth, Put a minimal amount of cash in parts, and some TLC, into a car made to last not the new made to bust crap.
What kind of a car can you get for just over $2500

I'll show you

Built in Canada for Canadians.
Most parts from the good ol' US of A
Even all the replacement parts came from the US or Canada

Sorry to rant just fed up with the newer crap as well.

I agree with you, a lot of the problem is that we all, as consumers, don't stand up for ourselves. Some things in life are just impossible to buy American, like anything electronic; but it just rubs mereally wrong with muscle car parts. I find that with hardcore engine and drivetrain parts, it’s not bad. I am starting to buy parts for a future street hemi for my GTX. I could buy a cheap rotator, etc, from overseas. Hell it might even work, but I would rather knowingly spend more money on a Crower crank, World block, Stage V heads, etc. And keep my hemi all AMERICAN

Interior parts are not too bad either, but exterior sheet metal and trim parts are horrible. I am thankful to own 2 nice 69 Plymouths; they were bought in the eighties and restored before most of this overseas crap got out of hand. Anyway I would not mind a 68-69 Dodge in a year or so to work on, I will pay up for almost rust-free south west car. No way am I lining AMD's pockets......
